Morning folks and thanks GERS, I hope you are enjoying your coffee and good to hear you are feeling back to yourself again.
Crikey the temp was a shock to the system when I got up - 5 deg outside! Remind me what month it is!
Up and at 'em early this morning as I have a day of coming and going. I have my flu jab booked for early doors at Boots and want to pop in Savers before catching the bus back home again. Then lunchtime off out again with DD and eldest DGD. Tomorrow is the big day - first day at Uni for her and everything bar the kitchen sink seems to be going with her! She swears blind she will need it all. This afternoon is to buy more stuff and I am already wondering whose purse will be getting opened to pay for it! Oh well isn't that what Grandmas are for!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. I keep wondering how COXY has been going on with queuing. Take care all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Coffee made, the machine is on the upstairs hall window ledge so no need to go downstairs. When I was in the lounge at Dubai airport I started with a dicky tummy which seemed to clear up pretty quickly and I was fine for the seven hour flight. However it returned with a vengeance when I was in Glasgow overnight. 🙁 I didn't eat anything until this morning, just kept my fluids topped up. For the first time ever I bought some Coke, stirred all the fizz out of before drinking it. It's better and cheaper than the rehydration sachets.I remember being given flat Lucozade as a child for the same problem but couldn't find it yesterday. My beloved Mum used to keep the crinkly paper for crafting.Today I'll start unpacking, I hate doing it and drag it out for far too long and then annoy myself. The repair job for the damp problem in the spare bedroom has been done and looks good. I've lost about six inches in the length of the room but it's worth it. Now I have think about sorting it into a kind of upstairs day room - later. My pile of post included an appointment for my COVID booster next week (no mention of the 'flu jag) and an audiology appointment next month.Coxy - congratulations to the happy couple. Good news is welcome during this time. And I hope that you made it to the lying in state without too much trouble. I've been watching the live stream in fascination.Nelski - you're in my thoughts as you clear out your beloved Mum's house in double quick time.Hugs to everyone, I need to read and absorb all the posts so apologies if I've missed something significant. Happy Saturday to all.8

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.I'm pleased that you're feeling a bit better, you'll be glad to be home and settled in.It's a nice morning here, a bit cool though, I've got a fleece over my legs. We haven't had the heating on yet.We went to Dun*lm yesterday, but i didn't buy the duvet cover I'd seen, I liked it but the colour was a bit different to how it looked on my screen. That's all we did really, though I went to a friend's house last night. Not a lot planned for today, though I must go to a supermarket at some point today or tomorrow.Hope everyone has a good day today - take care folks.9

Morning All
Brrr, chilly this morning, glad I had the winter quilt on the bed! It's nice and bright so the washing should dry well again today.
Managed to clean upstairs yesterday including the shower so all clean for my visitors who start arriving tomorrow, just a hoover through needed later.
Must do some shopping this morning, the last couple of weeks I haven't managed to get there until the afternoon and it's torture so will go first thing. Also need to visit the allotment to pick what are probably the last of the beans - after a slow start they have been quite prolific.
Glad you're feeling better Gers.
How's the queue Coxy? So nice to see Mr Beckam joining the line to pay his respects.
Good luck to your DGD TA, hope she enjoys her time at Uni.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning all; decidedly chilly this morning when I came downstairs.
Yesterday was busy and most of it seemed to involve spending money in various shops. We've now stocked up the garage freezer although I've still got the remainder of a pack of pork steaks to freeze.
Today we're going to have a day off wedding preparations and go for a walk and a pub lunch. Luckily the sun is out so just need to turf DH out of bed!
Have a good weekend everyone. Nice to see you back Gers.8 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here but very chilly we sat with blankets on our knees last night, will soon be time for lighting the fireI love the cosy evenings of Autumn / winter as do the dogs who love laying in front of the fire.
DD is working today and OH at the boot sale so all peaceful here, just having a cuppa and I might then have some boiled eggs with toast.
BBQ tonight as its a nice day, we keep saying it will be the last one but then the days are still warm, Ive got a nice bit of pork which I will cook in the oven and crisp up on the bbq, I will do dome roasted aubergine with garlic and some new potatoes.
Gers I am glad you are feeling better xxx
I too have been wondering about Coxy, the queue is over 24 hours nowI hope she managed to get in and pay her respects.
Have good days all xxx5 -

TA hope DGD settles well at uni it seems to have come round so quickly
Coxy hope you are moving up the queue
I don't think I would have managed to stand all that time although one of my old colleagues went on Thursday night but is 20 years younger
Nels thinking of you
Second valuation this morning yesterdays was OK but I know we still have a lot more things to clear before it goes on the market and we have already done 2 tip trips!
Some of the houses we were shown didn't look lived in at all
Woke up around 5 this morning feeling decidedly chilly but fell back to sleep
Have a good day all hugs to those who want them

Morning
Grief its gone chilly. Dressing gown is now back on over clothes which will also get progressively more wintery. No chance of heating on yet its against my religion to put it on in September plus I know once the day moves on the sun will do its job and heat the house nicely. On a positive I got my bill for Gas and Leccy this morning and it seems my summer of money saving (read tightness) has saved me £317 credit so along with the £400 and of course continued tightness I should be OK for a while.
Being quintessentially British I have spent far too much time watching people in the queue. Would have loved to be there but as I can't even stand for long enough to do the washing up I doubt it would be a great plan.
So house sale update.... the contracts and transfer are signed and sent back so it seems we are going for exchange the week after next. Its all been far too rushed for me but it seemed to become up to the buyer. At least it will be done soon and more importantly mum will have a good cushion to pay for her care. I am going on Tuesday for the house clearance which is all the big stuff. After that I won't be able to stay and will have to sit on my trolley seat so clearly can't be there much. There's still quite a lot of stuff I need to bring back here so will have to go but on return journeys.
Today I will no doubt keep a beady eye on the queue but also need to do the usual bins, dishwasher and tidy. Meal planning has gone out the window but I have plenty to grab from the freezer so it may be a lasagne and garlic bread
Gers nice to see you back hope your enjoying being home.
Take care all. 2 weeks and I should be back to normal service9 -
Hello afternoon
I haven't been on the last couple of days so have just had a catch up.
Gers - glad to 'see' you back - sorry to hear you had a bad tummy at the airport though. That has always been a dread of mine - catching a bug and having to fly.
Coxy - I too am wondering how long you have queued. I would have loved to have gone to London to pay my respects as it is such a historic moment. Theres no way I could queue for 4 hours never mind 24! I did wonder if having Long Covid qualified me to join the accessible queue but then checked the train fares and it would have been £160 return, which I just can't afford. I've been watching it on TV instead.
Little one stayed last night...her blood sugar alarm went off just after midnight - I was sound asleep. Had to !!!!!! her finger so she woke up screaming and then put lucozade through her tube. She didn't settle so came in my bed , then I couldn't sleep cos she takes up half the bed.... She woke just after 6 and wanted to chat!
We had a lazy morning and have been down to my mam and dads for lunch - she had a lovely play afterwards, with a bag of toys she's really too big for.
Nelski - pleased you're getting sorted with the house - you're going to be so relieved when you're finished.
TA - hope your granddaughter enjoys uni and settles well - it's such a big step. My eldest DD went with everything but the kitchen sink too.
Little one is just stirring from her nap - hope everyone has a good day x7
