Nationwide CC & Credit Reference Agencies: ClearScore says a new credit agreement added to report

Options
Hello,

I have a Nationwide Credit Card. This morning I received notification from ClearScore that 'A credit agreement is being added to your report'.
I logged in and saw that my current Nationwide CC is being removed from my account and a new Nationwide CC is being added to my account (new account number).
I logged into the Nationwide online banking application and my credit card account has the current number.

I called Nationwide and they advised that the Credit Reference Agencies have made a mistake and that they are currently working with them to resolve it.

I thought this might save someone else a phone call.

Best wishes

I read about this on the Banking forum and thought credit card more appropriate, so glad you posted here for those who not seen it on this thread:

I have same entries on my Equifax report too.
  • I've had this happen to me too with ClearScore, and quite a few times in the past. I don't hold a credit card with Nationwide, but I have several with other banks, and have also had the changes notifications that a credit card is being removed, and the same credit card is being added. It's always showed the same account numbers etc, so I just assumed it was ClearScore pushing system updates out or similar.

got the same notification yesterday or wednesday i was going to look into it once it had appeared on the credit report.

btw has anyone else noticed that their credit reports on clearscore are getting later and later it used to be monday or tuesday now its friday and it still says one more day left for the next credit report

    thanks again for posting
  • I had this too. It says it will be added to my next report in 2 days so I am intrigued as to what number will be shown there.

You can already see a preview of the number. For me, it's gone from the actual credit card number to a shorter account identifier. I guess this is just an internal change but the credit reference agencies can't handle an account number change and see it as a new account.

You are correct, the number will not change. I was really thinking whether anything else will change, such as the balance and payment history. And it has reminded me that some account references on my credit reports are accurate and others I do not recognise.

PS regarding my new card number showing on Clearscore, it is already showing on my Credit Karma report.
  • Thanks, I had that too.  Was wondering if I’d been issued a new card or something odd, so thank you

The new "account number" is now visible on Credit Karma (Transunion). Last 3 digits only
I am not expecting a new card, the old one has a long way to run.
I still see a 6-year credit history for this card on my file.

I suspect that Nationwide are now reporting using an internal account number, rather than the card number.

I had the same with my Monzo bank account the other week, and just got an alert for the same thing happening with my Santander bank account. As far as I can see nothing has now changed on the way my Monzo account is showing.
