I received my routine monthly email from ClearScore about my (Equifax) Credit Score. It said there were two upcoming changes: My Nationwide Credit Card xxxx1234 (not the real number) had been removed and a new Credit Card xxxx5678 (not the number quoted) had been added.
I was quite concerned and waited over half an hour for Nationwide to answer my telephone call. The lady said they had received many calls today about this ClearScore email and that it was an error. My concern was that it quoted the last four numbers of the alleged new Credit Card. My Credit Card is not due for renewal and I definitely had not opened a new Nationwide Credit Card.
I have been told to ignore the email as it is an error but I feel a bit unnerved and uneasy about it.
Has anyone else had received this email and, if so, what are your thoughts, please?

Yes, I've received that email. I've assumed that NW is about to send me a new card, with a new number.2

Thanks for replying. The lady I spoke to at Nationwide said there is no new card - it is a ClearScore mistake. My present Nationwide Credit card, she confirmed, is still active and not being renewed.
Is your present Nationwide Credit card due to be renewed, Vortigern?0 -
I had this too.
It looks like Nationwide have changed how they're reporting your account number from the card number to an internal account number, and Clearscore is detecting that as a new account (and the card number one being closed)4 -
Thanks razord. The lady I spoke to at Nationwide didn't say anything about that - only that it was a ClearScire error, they had received a lot of calls about it and were aware of the error.0

I'm away from home at the moment and I don't have that card with me, so I can't answer your question. Sorry.1 -
I too had a similar Clearscore email.
My current Nationwide CC is not due for replacement until 2024.1 -
It just doesn't sound right but, hopefully, will sort out and will be resolved ssfely.0

I just checked my Transunion reports and the latest one is showing a number I've never heard of, the one from a year ago shows the last four numbers from my card,

Same issue here - was wondering if possibly the nationwide credit cards are in process of switching from Visa to MasterCard? We had the same thing happen (notification from Clear Score etc) when Santander changed from Visa to MasterCardLancashire
