  • If the "they" who are offering full credit is Wowcher, why not take it then use it to purchase or put towards something other than a massage with the original company?

There is a chargeback route with visa debit but if they want to they might be able to squirm on the time limits. Credit cards give you more rights and are certainly advised for larger purchases (like conservatories, solar panels, holidays, weddings etc.)
As I said. There is NO chargeback route. As the claim is against who debits the account (Wowcher) not the company supplying the service.
Wowcher have done what is required. Supply a voucher. Fact it does not work is not the point of the chargeback.

This is why your rights when using these 3rd party companies are greatly reduced.

At best as OP has now advised is get a credit on the Wowcher account. Not the money back in your bank account. As wowcher are doing it as a gesture of good will, nothing else.

  • Thank you for the responses.

    Just to clarify.
The massages are with Bannatynes gym. It is wowcher who have offered full credit.

I have not been able to get past wowcher booking stage to even book with Bannatynes and for some strange reason they do not know how to resolve it.

When going to the bookinh section, it says there is an error but it has not been fixed despite me speaking to 7 different advisors.

    Very strange.

Update: they have offered me full credit back. I have requested a refund but they will not give me a refund. Only credit. Does anyone know my rights with this?

    Many thanks
I think you’ve already been told a few times that currently you have no rights.
there is a temporary issue that they are attempting to resolve.
    any offers are goodwill gestures.
  • Take the full credit offered.  You have no rights to any more than that.

use the credit to buy a new voucher which will probably work.

It is the original voucher that is the problem.

Or buy a voucher for something else.

But if the booking system is also on the Wowcher website then they haven't done what was asked, as the voucher needs to be redeemed with Wowcher on their website. Seems like the contract is with Wowcher as they are handling the booking process.

    I disagree.
wowcher have NOT done what was required in providing a working voucher.
    the voucher is faulty.

something doesn’t work is not the point of the chargeback???
    huh??

chargeback IS for faulty goods, need a link?

there may be an issue with timescales though although ultimately it’s up to visa.
I’ve had claims go through without much inspection and they’ve not been appealed.

A chargeback for faulty goods would be out of time. As they have to be faulty at the point of purchase. Not many months later.

You have a right to disagree. All I can say is, this is how it is handled by the teams that deal with these disputes.

Do Wowcher run the booking process? As that would imply that they have access to Bannatynes internal booking systems. More More likely that Wowcher site passes you on to Bannatynes website for the booking.

You would normally book with whoever was supplying what you are buying and claim credit for the voucher.amount.

In this case book on Ballantyne's website.  But there was a problem and  the voucher did not work with Ballantyne's booking system.

Woucher have given a credit to replace the faulty voucher so the OP can buy another for Ballantyne's or for something else.
