Long-standing intermittent poor line now with Sky

So, as the title , I've been paying for a landline for years that everyone tells me they can't hear me.
So, I really need to have decent phones due to my health.
But over the years, all that's has happened , is that the company sends an engineer, the last time they did a test inside and said it's fine.
I've told them it's intermittent .

What now. Sky now 🥲

If you can wait a couple of years, the old copper-line phone network is getting switched off, and all telephone calls will be made by Internet telephony (aka Voice over IP or VoIP). This should be much clearer.

You might ask Sky if they can provide you with an internet phone service today. Their digital phone sevice is called "Internet Calls".  This web page explains more about the Sky Internet Phone service: What you need to know about Internet Calls | Sky Help | Sky.com

If you need to be able to guarantee to call 999 on an internet phone, you need an uninterruptible power supply for the Hub and the Phone Handset. Alternatively, a mobile phone might give more piece of mind.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
  • Thanks, I have a mobile and that signal isn't always great

But be aware that some ISPs won't guarantee you the same phone number after switching to full fibre. So if your phone number is important be careful if upgrading to FTTP.
