Not a lot happening this weekend. Went to visit my sister yesterday & then when I got home we had dinner & watched a movie. Today I’ve just been doing housework & taking photos of some of the things I’ll be putting on eBay.

Some of our bills have gone out today. I have a few more that go out next week & then the last few DD's go out at the end of the month. I did consider moving them all to this first week, but I think I'll leave them as they are for now because it works for us with OH being paid weekly. Maybe I'll reconsider in the new year when I am in a good rhythm with repayments etc.
I had a no spend day yesterday but had to get some groceries today. Only a few top up bits, all within budget & on my meal plan. I don't think I'll need anything else for the rest of this week, so should get at least 3 no spend days this week, maybe even 4 but I'm not going to push it haha.
My current ebay listings end this weekend, so I'm keeping an eye on them. Some of them have a few bids on which is great.
I'm having a big declutter of my house. We have so much stuff & it's overwhelming sometimes, so I have made it my mission to sort it all out. It's a great sense of achievement when I get another cupboard or shelf sorted. Anyway, some of the stuff I have been putting ebay, but some stuff I haven't bothered because either it's not worth anything or it would just be too difficult to post. So I've put a few things on facebook for free if people collect. I've had a few people requesting the items, so I picked names out of a hat & they were all collected yesterday & this morning. It feels so good getting rid of unwanted/unused items. I feel like it's actually doing my mental health some good too, because I don't feel so stressed out by everything around me

Decluttering definitely makes me feel more organised and less weighed down thus reducing mental stress. Well done for getting rid of unwanted stuff.
Good plan on the debt reduction too. Getting it all on 0% and then targeting the one interest charging debt sounds sensible.
If your DH is paid weekly that is a challenge to get the bills allocated and paid on time. We use starling which has a bill payment space and although we allocate money monthly it would work well for those paid weekly. What it essentially does is remove money from the available spends and leaves it in a savings space so it is waiting for when the bills fall due. You would need to work out annual spends and then divide by 52 if paid weekly although initially you may need a buffer in it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. @Makingabobor2 I can believe that, it definitely feels better when something else goes out the door
@enthusiasticsaver Because my DH has always been paid weekly, we've just settled in to a routine with it now. I know when the bills come out, so as long as I've got enough money in the joint account for those I'm happy. I've heard good things about Starling. I'm currently with Monzo for my own account & we're with Santander for our joint account, which is working for me at the moment, but something to think about in future.
So 2 more payments went out today but that's it now for this week. Next week we have a few DD's going out & then there will be no other payments due until the end of the month. I'm keeping an eye on the accounts & moving over any pennies that can be rounded down. I've got lots of food in so no grocery shopping needs to be done for a while, we've even got enough bread & milk to last until the end of the week. Sadly no more surprise vouchers or cashback anywhere, so now I have to work hard to get any extra payments out of our budget.
I hope everyone is having a productive, successful week.1 -
Only a small update today because not much happening. Weekend went fairly quickly, but didn't do much so no money spent
I had a few things from Next that I ordered a while ago & I decided yesterday that as much as I like them, I can't afford them. So I logged on to my account & arranged for them to be collected. That will be around £200 being refunded. I also had something that I also have some things going back to Amazon. They were another few bits that I ordered thinking I would need them, but I don't need them at all, so they will also go back. They were purchased with an amazon gift card though, so that will go back on my account as a gift card. I don't mind that though, because there are a few books my daughters want for Christmas so I can use that to buy those.
A few things sold on ebay this weekend so that's another £30 after postage. Then I have some things ending this weekend, which should be around £20. I have still got loads of things to put on there, but I'm just doing bits at a time so I don't lose track of it all.2 -
I think when it comes to selling stuff, whether on ebay or vinted you need to do it a bit at a time, otherwise it all gets a bit much and then you get put off doing it again. That's certainly how it works for me anyway
Well done on the returned purchases. I buy most of my clothes from Next and it's been ages since I placed an order. I probably am getting to the stage where I need to buy a few bits but I'm going to wait a bit longer and use some of my sealed pot savings I think.
Good luck with the rest of your listings, hopefully you'll get a flurry of late bidders fighting over them!
