Crunch time today! I was going to tally everything up yesterday but I was so busy that I didn't get chance to sit down & go through it all.
This is how it started
CC1 - 8140.40
CC2 - 1536.53
CC3 - 10603.09
CC4 - 298.57
CC5 - 6865.26
Total - 27443.85
And this is what it looks like today
CC1 - 15001.35 (this has gone up because I transferred CC5 to this. I then paid 302.88 off this balance)
CC2 - 1493.99 - reduced by 42.54
CC3 - 10603.09 - reduced by 318.09
CC4 - 0 - reduced by 298.57
CC5 - 0 (but not counting this as a reduction because I have just moved it to CC1)
Total - 27098.43
So that's a total reduction this month of £345.42. I'm pleased with that. It would have been more than this but obviously when I made the balance transfer, there was a fee for that.
My plans for today & this weekend are
- work (only today)
- do some surveys (I'm slacking on this a bit, but know I need to crack on with it because every little bit helps)
- plan meals for next week so I can do my grocery shopping. I am going to try & plan a lot of the meals around what I have in the freezer, but I will need to get bread, milk & lunchbox snacks for my 2 DD's.
Last night I was checking my Topcashback account (again) and had £10 that had reached payable status. I decided to change this £10 to vouchers, because they add on an extra few % which is handy for Christmas shopping. Anyway, I added that to the Reward Wallet balance & was looking through the transactions. In the reward wallet it said I still had 2 Amazon vouchers that I hadn't spent. To be honest I just assumed I had already added them to my Amazon account, but had just not marked them as spent. But I checked anyway & was so surprised when I put the codes into Amazon & they were still valid. So I ended up with over £90 in Amazon vouchers!! I don't know how I missed them, I'm usually really good with redeeming any gift card codes that I get. A pleasant surprise though & will be a great start to some Christmas shopping. I have budgeted for Christmas, so this means I can just use the vouchers & divert that amount in real money to elsewhere in my budget.
I don't think I'm going to get any more surprises like that though, I think my luck is spent.
So far in the October budget I have £562 allocated to debt repayments. Some months are lower than other months because OH gets paid weekly, so some months we have an extra week of money coming in (this month isn't one of those months). This means I need to work harder to get some extra money in from extra income or from saving in other areas.
I've tidied up my accounts today. Rounded them all down to the £, so the smaller savings pots are increasing slowly. It's not huge amounts, but I bet by the end of the year I will have enough to make a decent payment towards one of the debts.
As all the debts are now 0% I am going to concentrate on getting CC2 cleared. Its the lowest balance & I think it will be a real motivation boost to see another 0. But for now I would just like to see CC1 below the £15k, CC2 below £1k & CC3 below £10k. I know this won't happen quickly, but the smaller wins are going to keep me motivated.

So in summary, starting October with
CC1 - 15001.39
CC2 - 1493.99
CC3 - 10603.09
Total - 27098.47
Budgeted repayments £562
Target repayments £6621 -
This is great progress @no1disneymum
Definitely the right way to go in planning on reduced CC2 first! I reckon you will have that cleared in no time! Well done! x
Debt Remaining: £8,781.53
3 Month EF: £1,000/£4,494
2025 MFW Challenge #9: £999.00/£4,0001 -
Good update and you've already made great progress on your debts. Your budgeted repayment amount is a chunky amount to throw at your debt each month without the stretched target so well done!

Great progress @no1disneymum and what a nice surprise to find some extra vouchers! I'd focus on CC2 as well, though it's nice to get them all below that next threshold too. Either way it's motivating to see the balances go down, CT xx

Thanks all, I’m excited to see how this month goes.
Not a lot happening this weekend. Went to visit my sister yesterday & then when I got home we had dinner & watched a movie. Today I’ve just been doing housework & taking photos of some of the things I’ll be putting on eBay.
