EC261 Expenses Compensation for Airport parking

Hi, I am new to forums so please excuse the lack of experience.
Due to 2 cancellations by Easyjet, afterwhich we eventually returned from holiday 7 days after the original return date, Easyjet are refusing to refund the surcharge for collecting our car 7 days later than originally booked/paid for. Their argument is that the cost incurred was AFTER the plane landed back at Bristol Airport.
Does anyone know if Easyjet's position follows EC261 compensation rules.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes, they are correct.
You are always entitled to CARE during the time that you are delayed: food, drink, hotel if necessary. Clearly your car parking is not part of "care".
If the delay is the airline's fault you are also entitled to COMPENSATION. This is a lump sum, the amount depending on the distance of the flight and the length of the delay. The amount is usually enough to cover everything from car parking to extra kennel fees, time off work, and so forth, so no-one is interested in the various losses you suffered.
In your situation you might be entitled to not one but two compensation payments, which should be more than enough for your car parking costs.

Will any EU261 compensation for the delay cover the extra car parking expense?0

This is a consequential loss and not recoverable directly from Easyjet .
Have you been able to claim compensation for the 2 cancelled flights ?Your travel insurance may cover you for consequential losses (additional airport parking costs ) so it’s worth checking your policy .0
