Gas use for a 10 minute shower

That's all what's needed ever..I ve got my electric shower use delivering hot water down to as low as 30 secs now..wrf12345 said:One quick blast of hot water to get wet, shampoo and soap, and a second blast to clean off.
Looks like an electric shower is a lot cheaper than this ten minute gas shower using as much as 4 kwh s .That's a horrendous amount of gas when I only average 1.5 gas kwhs a day cooking and hot water .
Even though the prices are frozen they are still higher than anything before for me in my life if they are going to be between 9 p and 10 p a kWh for gas and 35 p kWh electric1 -
I'm happy to pay 20p more so I don't have to shower like I'm in a dystopian boot camp, thanks.

No idea what you mean..my shower takes me a relaxed 8 to 10 minutes..the water used is more than enough to rinse on rinse off..[Deleted User] said:I'm happy to pay 20p more so I don't have to shower like I'm in a dystopian boot camp, thanks.
Who stands directly under the spray anyway as it's not doing anything other than sprinkling water on you .
I m on a water meter too so the on/off method is the way forward .No boot camp nonsense at all..just using exactly what's needed like boiling one cup of water in the kettle not a full kettle .

The efficiency increase on hot water from a combi > condensing combi probably isn't going to be massive (unless you have gone with an Intec or Gas Saver). Hopefully you will see significant drop in heating costs though especially if you have upgraded the controls at the same time & ensure that it is setup to condense..scobie said:My 2-3m shower from a 20 year old Worcester combi uses just 0.8 kWh according to Loop. I’m having a brand new more energy efficient 28kw Alpha installed in a couple of weeks. Will be interesting to see the difference to heating costs this winter.0 -
I have an ideal Imini c24 (24kwh) boiler 4 years old.
My daughter has just been in the shower for 7 minutes 42 second's and used exactly 1kWh of gas, currently that costs me 3.7 pence, or for others come October 1st around 10p.0 -
That sounds too little to me. Gas readings don't update as fast as electric so I wonder if you may be missing some of the gas used for the shower there.Coffeekup said:I have an ideal Imini c24 (24kwh) boiler 4 years old.

Possibly daughter didn't run the shower continuously, or the shower flow was too low to need the full 24kW? Otherwise I reckon it will have needed a smidgen over 3kWh of gas.Ultrasonic said:

No I was the one who turned on the shower and turned it off and used a stop watch. The water on the boiler is set to 40*C (or minimum (Edit))QrizB said:
