Not meaning to put a dampner on this one but i used to work for tesco's CSC(where you call about your cc)and no the ways round the system.
I would advise people not to do this as it is noticed and i have known customers to be banned even had legal procedings taken against them.
it does show on the system they use that you haven't made a transaction and your household can be banned altogether for ever having a clubcard again.
Just a big word of warning
PS. you can also be banned from stores for this.£2008 for 2008 club member 616
Not won a thing yet, but still hoping.

how do they know?
easy, every transaction you make is put on the system they use.they also have another system in which they use which records how many points have been added directly by the store.if it is continous (ie 2500 points been added by store over the 3 month period and you have spent say £25 in tesco, all they have to do is add 2 and 2 together and they then contact the store)
on the system if you have had double points vouchers etc they are listed seperately,so it is very easy to see if a customer is unrightly claiming points, as i said NOT ADVISED as it is considered as fraud.
if it is continous with the same customer it then goes directly to the cc fraud team who will then moniter that person and further action can be taken if necessary.
a small amount here and there will go past the system but as i said if continous it will not go unseen.
One thing i learnt from working in there was you might think your screwing tesco by doing this but in reality your screwing yourself because they'll just take action and you'll lose out all together.
the clubcard does not record what you buy unless you do online shopping.its purely to see how many points you are entitled to.
ps what you people dont know is sites like this are known to tesco's and they do have people who will regurarly check these sites to see the next thing they are going to get screwed out of, so they can put a stop to it before it happens.
also when i said you can be banned from the store, i dont just mean 1 store, i mean all tesco stores.i can remember a customer who got banned from every single store in london for collecting till receipts and then putting the points on to his card.He got hundreds of pounds out of tesco's.He was taken to court and was charged.
I don't mean to sound so bad cause reading back what i wrote it sounds like im being nasty.I'm not, i just know from experience what will and can happen.

I think most wombling MSE'ers already know this.
not all of them do, if they did they would be aware of the consequences.
im only put these posts up because i have seen what tesco's can do.
at the end of the day, people will do what they want to do and im only advising them as i know how tesco's systems work.
whether people listen to me or not is their own choice.£2008 for 2008 club member 616

BE VERY CAREFUL PEOPLE
I appreciate the very descriptive insight response. Thank you.One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
To be honest, I find it hard to see how Tesco can prosecute. If you have a receipt and all you are saying is "Will you add this to my clubcard please?" The CS staff can easily say "NO"
The only way a prosecution will hold water is if you scan the points yourself.Quotes in context only please.0 -
But i'm confused....cause when i've been shopping with my flatmates, i'm the only one with a clubcard so they put their points on my card....surely this receipt thing is the same?Wins for 2022: Hydratem8 Water bottle, diary, flowers, Good food show tickets, childrens books x3,
Thanks to all who post the comps & please let the comping fairy sprinkle dust on my entries!0 -
Tesco can and does do exactly what it wants....
If it wants to zero your points and remove you from cc it will do and 9 times out of 10 you dont even get told... the fortunate ones have their points zeroed and can stop using the card as soon as the points loss is noticed the unfortunate ones dont and continue to accrue points....
the 1st you know is when you dont get a quarterly mailing...
Wombling is against the spirit of cc and can get you banned.
