Sky - Moving home soon. Wasn't in contract, so took a new contract for move. Don't want it now!

Hi there, .
I have been a Sky customer for years. We were just ticking along with our Broadband/Land line which wasn't in contract, and I didn't bother to renew.
We are moving and so I thought ok, need to tell Sky. So I have informed them of move and have arranged for a new 18 month contract, so we'll have 14th Sept at our new address. However, the speed is a 1/5 of what we get just now, it's awful.
Can I cancel it, because it's a new contract and I should have a cooling off date? Or am I stuck.
I did get an email saying our Broadband and Talk order is delayed. We'll update you with more info on the 14th.
Thanks in advance lovely people!
(Before anyone jumps to tell me about the speeds probably being the same, we were going to try satellite and see how it goes. Don't try don't get, and can't be much worse...)

As the service hasn't yet been supplied and you are out of minimum period at your current address ,I believe that you can cancel within the 14 day cooling off period0

Cancelling your ‘new’ contract before it comes into force , should put you back on the contract in force previously , FWIW, you always had a contract even if it no longer had a minimum term , if that contract requires the usual 30 day notice then you should be able to simply cancel the ‘new’ contract at the address you are moving to ( before it comes into force) then give the appropriate notice to quit at your current address, however if you move in approximately 4 days , then with 30 days notice required, you will pay for the majority of the month without being able to use the service as you will have vacated the property0
