Cavity Wall Insulation Advice
Our house is built from reconstituted stone (with breeze blocks behind) and the stone is porous. We are in the Peak District with a wet climate and sometimes get driving rain. I understand that you need to be careful with cavity insulation with this type of stone. Can anyone advise on what type of cavity insulation would be appropriate or where I could get professional advice from?

In your location and wall type it would likely be a disaster, internal insulation would be better, insulated plasterboard is the easiest way.0

Another vote to avoid CWI.Insulating the walls internally is not always practical on some walls (bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells), and it can be quite disruptive. But you do end up with nice flat walls at the expense of a loss of ~75mm floor space. Wrapping the insulation around door & window reveals can also cut the cold spots that form in those areas.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
