I shut down my PC with all the windows maximized, but, In the morning when i start my computer, the windows (which i had left maximized are shortened as in the pict).Methinks you are not actually 'shutting down' your PC, maybe just sleeping or hibernating? When I shut my PC down, there's no open windows upon restartAlthough not answering your question (sorry) a daily restart does help to keep W10 running smoothly IMO1

mind you. i surely turn off/shut down my PC from the main menu at the far end on left side corner. and mind you i do leave all my windows open when shutting my windows down so that they can re-open as they were shut the same way.0

Browsers have some option like 'Open previous windows and tabs' in their 'Startup' settings and your Chrome has to be in the Windows Startup list for this to happen automatically. With so many different webpages open, I think it's much easier to navigate them with fewer windows and many tabs in each (or just one) window

Well, mind you, it doesn't work like that on my Windows PC, nor has it ever going back to W95 IIRC

Well, mind you, it doesn't work like that on my Windows PC, nor has it ever going back to W95 IIRCApparently this feature has been around since Windows 98.Windows 10 (or maybe it was 8/8.1) changed the behaviour to include relaunching the apps you had at the time of the restart. Previously it was just the Explorer windows you had open. But yes I was able to recreate it in 98, then for some reason that stopped working, XP seemed to lose the ability of this altogether and then it was either Vista or 7 that bought it back, and of course 8/10/11 (presumably 11?) can now relaunch the entire session. But TL;DR - doesn't matter how you restart. Start menu, shortcut, power off at the wall... all the same to Windows, so the method of restart doesn't determine the issue re: the windows not being maximised (which was the original issue in the thread)1 -

As explained, 'tread' has a totally different meaning.1 -
