As much as it might have narked you somewhat, as it would no doubt have narked me - it was good that they spotted that they were the wrong way around. They may have been ok today, next week, even next month, but as they aren't designed to be fitted that way around, you could have had a wheel fall off 6 months down the line while running up the outside lane of the M1. Wouldn't you rather they failed you, you sorted it, got back in for a retest - and then carried on with life - rather than not being able to carry on with life as your wheel fell off causing a catastrophic crash?

(Yes the reality is that it likely wouldn't have fallen off - but it's all about risk isn't it?).

Who last put the wheels on? They'd be the person/people I'd be most narked at. And if it was you, you've learnt to ensure that wheel nuts go on the right way around.

If you've got a team of mechanics to hand, why did you (a) fit the wrong nuts and (b) take a car to Halfords for an MOT?
