As usual, Scots have been ignored and disrespected by this Tory Govt

Another Lincolnshirian here, if we declare independence the rest of the UK will have to meet our demands or no more Potatoes, Cauliflowers or gingerbread.0

What you are actually saying is that people in Scotland use more, so receive more help from the government than anyone else.5

People in Scotland pay more for their energy and the connection charges to sell them back the energy they produce. Something Daily Mail/Express readers probably don't realise.sienew said:What you are actually saying is that people in Scotland use more, so receive more help from the government than anyone else.1 -
"Scotland" don't produce energy. Private companies do.tightauldgit said:

Miser1964 said:The price cap of £2,500 on average bills sounds good, until you look at Britain's weather patterns!
Scots have days and weeks of sub-zero temperatures while Cornwall is still mild. Naturally Scots have to put on the C/H sooner (like now!) and will keep it running until May 2023.
The cap should reflect the additional heating needs of those outside the M25 and be set at £1,750 for average bills in Scotland. Just saying.
It's only September, why would we have our heating on now?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
So what you're actually saying is that Scots will get more benefit from the cap!Miser1964 said:The price cap of £2,500 on average bills sounds good, until you look at Britain's weather patterns!

People on above average usage are getting a bigger subsidy. So this actually is good for people in colder regions.3

But what they want is not only more subsidised units but also a bigger subsidy per unit. That's called double-dipping.Chrysalis said:People on above average usage are getting a bigger subsidy. So this actually is good for people in colder regions.3 -
Living in Glasgow I'm embarrassed by the OP. Difficult time for everyone. GERS figure confirm Scotland's public finances and the benefits of The Union. Less than a third of the Scottish electorate vote SNP so despite lots of huffing and puffing and faux grievance Nicola doesn't even have a "mandate" to have a cup of tea.7

I'm disappointed to learn that Scots need heating on in the first place. I thought they were made of sterner stuff.
