LPG - What if your tank breaks regulations and can't be re-sited

Good morning,
I've recently moved into a house with LPG. There are two (360L) tanks provided by Calor, and after 3 months of trying I've finally managed to get them to send me a contract and re-fill the tanks (I realise now I should have read this forum regarding prices and providers first, but here we are...)
Reading the regulations (although I realise LPG isn't regulated in the same way mains gas is) on the siting of tanks I think they need to be 3m from your house, or any other building(?) and also 3m from your boundary ... although I'm not too clear on this. Looking at other tanks in the area, some seem to follow these regulations, others not.
My issue is, my tanks are quite old (over 20 years) and Calor say they'll give them a "thorough inspection" in December, and currently sit in an enclosure behind my garage (1 side is the garage, three other sides are the wooden boundary fence); the enclosure itself being about 3m square. The boundary around my property is no more than 3m from my external walls at any point. The tanks are currently sited as far away from my house as possible, and I can't see anywhere that they could go which would satisfy the "3m rule". If Calor come and say the tanks need moving, and there's nowhere for them to go, what happens? I can't imagine Calor abandoning my money, but can they require additional measures to be installed? Does this fix me to Calor as provider (reading other discussions it seems providers will stick with their own non-confirming tanks, but others won't be keen to take them on).
Thanks.

The smaller tanks are 2.5m, with a small (as the tanks are low/small) firewall say on the boundary and the tanks 0.3m from that wall.
So you could have a boundary down the garden (between neighbours gardens) with a firewall on that boundary and the tank next to that wall.
