Can someone please tell me how to unsubscribe from this thread? The bookmark symbol, at the top of the thread is unselected
There doesn't appear to be the granularity on this forum to stop notifications from just one thread.  I get frustrated with it too.
Yeah I would set like this for opt-in notifications.

Notify me when people comment on my discussions. OFF
Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions. ON
Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in. OFF

Then simply bookmark the threads you want to be notified. (icon to right of thread title)

I turned off Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in. A long time ago, its very spammy.

Turn all three off if you want only notifying when you quoted and just to use bookmarked threads in your bookmark list.
    Good idea, thanks!

If its unselected you unsubscribed, and even that doesnt subscribe you it just adds the thread to your favourites.

But you may still get notices depending on your forum settings, you will probably get this one as I quoted you.

Actually check these three when selecting edit profile top right.  The 3rd one especially.

Notify me when people comment on my discussions.

Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions.

Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in
    Thanks
I must admit I've not encountered subscribing like this, other sites you can unsubscribe from individual threads.
I've made a change hopefully it's the right one

If the green levy,s are being suspended, does that mean they will knock them off fixed tarrifs too?

They keep going on about electric and gas.

What about those of us that still use coal and wood for heating?
  • I fixed last week at £350pm with UW. Should I cancel!? Or ask them if I can switch to their variable tarrif?
UW is offering all customers free release from fixed tariffs. It's now complicated as Martin says fixed rates are also going to be reduced, possibly by 30%? So we'll have to do a calculation before jumping off fixed. Once we know the unit and day rates we can compare with our fix minus whatever they'll reduce that by! I know - it'll make mathematicians of us all! At least kids can't say, Matgx is no use in the real world.

The £400 goes to electricity accounts (because 99% of households have one of those, whereas many areas don't have gas).

The price cap will effectively cap the unit rates you pay for each fuel (it's not an absolute bill limit, but a rates limit), so it doesn't matter that you have two suppliers. If you use less you'll pay less, if you use more you'll pay more.

They haven't mentioned "Biomass fuel" either. Biomass pellets have shot up in price this year the same as LPG and oil have.

"I hate the government for doing this to us. I fixed because I had so much anxiety over the coming rises. Now they have come out with all this new confusing information last minute before 1st October. The government has known this was coming for months and should have decided then to put people minds at ease, but instead they were going on holiday or arguing over who should be prime minister. "
If you are fixed you can change to the new std tariff in Oct free of charge, if it is cheaper than your fix then why do you hate the govn, they have just saved you lots of money?

Yes some people will blame the Government for everything. It won't hurt anyone massively to wait a week or two for this to all become very clear. No one should be running their boilers on full blast and spending more money on current expensive fixes and in the grand scheme of the savings to be made over the next two years given price predictions just enjoy the stressless time of not having to pay a hell of a lot more for you energy over the next 2 years.
