Hi, I'm not able to reply to certain discussions I've created. Is it a browser issue, I use duckduckgo. I also get the characters too short issue.

Morning James,
I'm unable to quote / reply to posts in motoring forum "Alternative to Disklok"
I followed your advice above and still keep getting this message
I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0 -
It's because all your text is inside the quote tags, so doesn't get included in the character count.
If you click the two arrows top right, it will make the posting box full screen which might make it easier to add text outside the shaded quote box.

@Just_Passing_Bi when you reply to a quote as you have shown, the cursor will appear under the quoted text.
Start typing your reply without using anything apart from your keyboard characters.
If you hit back or delete you will move into the quoted text and it then gets very messy.0 -
Thanks for replying, unfortunately, I'm just not getting it, I've logged out / logged in, the quote" is still showing at the bottom of the thread, I've deleted the text, retyped "test" and still getting !body is 9 characters to short"

The problem is that the word 'test' is in the grey shaded box (which denotes a quote of someone else's text, not your own words).
You'll need to type at least 10 characters outside the grey quote box.Official MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com1 -
That's because you are moving the cursor INTO the quoted text.
When you quote, you can ONLY start typing your reply BELOW the quote box, do not do anything apart from typing your comment.
If you attempt to change the quote you are stuffed and need to delete the reply and start again.1 -
OK, the thing is I've deleted the text numerous times, but the grayed out box is still there
I can't get the cursor under the grey boxI'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0 -
You need to quit the post COMPLETELY and start again.
As I said, once inside the QUOTE BOX you are stuffed.
