price cap for electric only users
Everyone talks about "dual user" in relation to the energy price cap but how does it apply to electric only. We do not have gas in the village and so everyone is either on oil or liquid gas. I would love someone to say what the cap will be for electric-only users.

There is a set pence per kWh charge for each fuel if you are on the price capped tariff. The average at the moment for electricity as it varies by region is 28p kWh and on top of that a daily charge of 45p.
The price cap from October for electricity was set at 51.8p on average (regional variations apply) but the leaked news coming out of Westminster suggests a price freeze which could see electricity price at between 33-36p kWh (best finger in the air at the moment from knowledgeable members of the forum)
Let's see what tomorrow brings as in news and detail.3 -
Nobody knows what the changed/frozen/Liz's special cap will be for anything yet, or how it will work.
Anything that anybody says now will just be a guess.
Wait until tomorrow (if that's when the announcement comes) and I'm sure a few of us will dig through the details and be able to explain a lot better - I know I will, but others like QrizB, pochase, MWT, Section62 (and many more that I have forgotten) who you see around a lot will do the same.2 -
Is this a variable or fixed term tariff?trendylfj said:Everyone talks about "dual user" in relation to the energy price cap but how does it apply to electric only. The current April 2022 price cap for electricity on a single rate meter is in the region of £980 which is based on an average user of 2900 kWh averaged across all regions so a pretty meaningless figure really. The October 2022 cap was to be in the region of £1660 for that same use, around a 70% increase.0

There have been different caps for every combination of region and payment type, you must check the correct one.1 -
