Ticketmaster Refund

Has anyone else managed to resolve this type of issue? Ticketmaster will refund tickets paid for in 2019 for a concert in 2020 that was cancelled several times and still hasn't happened. They will only refund to the Mastercard used to make the original payment. I don't have this card anymore and don't even know which bank it was issued by. I only have the final four digits of the card number. Mastercard says it is unable to identify which bank / building society issued it. I cannot get through to speak to Ticketmaster, I don't know which bank to contact and have no way of finding where my funds are. I have tried in vain to identify the card - been through emails, checked paperwork etc but don't know which bank issued it. Any ideas would be welome. Many thanks.

Yes! I had exactly this problem. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6423923/ozzy-osbourne-ticket-refunds-getting-a-ticket-refund-on-a-closed-account#latest
To find out which bank issued the card, do a free credit reference check - it will list all your credit cards and issuers from the last 6 years. I used this one recommended by MSE. https://www.checkmyfile.com/
If you settled your credit card bill via DD, check your bank statements from around the time you had the card to find the issuer listed on the credit score - it should may have the full card number as a reference. You can then go to your card issuer to ask about getting the money back.
If you look at this thread linked above, at the time of writing, I still haven't had my money, as the credit card company rejected the refund. I'm currently taking it back up with Ticketmaster, but will probably end up having to make a formal complaint and escalating it to the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers to resolve. Follow the linked thread above for updates on how that's going. https://www.star.org.uk/dispute-resolution/0
