Switching from BT to Virgin Media

Options
Hi, looking for some advice. About to switch from BT to Virgin but wondering what that means if in 18 months I decide to switch back, is there a reconnection fee associated with this? I’m currently on BT Fibre 1 (FTTP) with the digital phone line. I know I’ll lose my landline but I never use it so not really an issue. Thanks

Whichever Openreach based provider you choose would have the right to charge an activation fee. Some waive that fee - some even skip new line fees (but that's rarer) - usually to entice customers activation fees are waived in most new customer deals even though in some cases they wouldn't really apply.

TBH , if you are Openreach FTTP , and leaving for Virgin ( totally different infrastructure ) but looking ahead to possibly rejoining in the future, if you were on a standard OR copper pair with ADSL or VDSL, the chances are that any reconnection  fee would be covered by the ISP you were joining, no doubt it will be the same with FTTP , but it will be something that won’t have happened too many times , so the chances of someone who has made that journey ( OR FTTP to VM back to OR FTTP ) reading your post and replying is slim…so its at best a guess.
