On the beach

Ok so I called on the beach few weeks back and booked a holiday, I paid deposit and today due to health reasons I decided to cancel, I been told I lose my deposit witch I’m fine with, but also I owe them £1800 something to do with flights. I didn’t receive t&c until I paid the deposit, I got the invoice and t&c link attached to the email, no one told me on the phone that I would be charged. What do I do, I’m not bothered about deposit, also it cost me £80 phone bill to book the holiday as I was on phone for 90 mins.
If I don’t pay any more of the holiday they still require the £1800 witch again I didn’t know of until I got the t&c in email after deposit paid.
If I don’t pay they won’t have bailiffs after me will they.. thanks guys
THE HOLIDAY IS FOR MAY 2023

I suspect your booking includes non-refundable flights so these would be need to be paid in full
Given the holiday is not for 8 months you would possibly have been better leaving the booking in case your health improves and you are able to travel or if still not possible then possibly a claim from travel insurance (assuming you already have a policy in place that covers the reasons)

Yes you have to pay what you owe which is in the e-mail you received -If you don’t pay what you owe, OTB can debit your credit card for the amount .
If you are having to cancel for health reasons then this should be covered by your travel insurance policy . There may an excess to pay - check your policy .
If you believe that the flexible payments were not explained to you and if the phone call was recorded you can ask for a recording of that phone call under the data protection rules .

Madmike48 said:I was told the total cost of my holiday, …..but never once told me if they are refundable or non refundable. It’s not for me to know it’s for them to tell me,Did you ask about the cancellation terms ?Before committing to a holiday you should assume that you will not be entitled to a refund for disinclination to travel / changing your mind - unless you have it in writing or specifically have been told that it is fully refundable/ flexible. If you don’t know ask .
It’s up to you to check before you make a booking - whether you will be able to cancel for a full refund or what the cancellation charges there will be .Madmike48 said:BA told me today that if I don’t pay for seats I can’t get on flight, and no seats would be allocated.I don’t understand your post about BA - is this for the same holiday - If you have cancelled the holiday - why are you still expecting to get on the flight ?0 -

If you had a BA basic economy ticket and choose not to pay, they will allocate you a seat when you check in
With other fare types you can select your own seat for free when checkin opens
