Money Moral Dilemma: Should I return the 100+ stamps that Royal Mail sent to me by mistake?
Comments

Donate them to a charity. That is the right thing to do.1

Royal Mail most likely intended the second lot of stamps for another person and simply sent to incorrect address (something they are well practised at)! Since the second pack of stamps arrived unsolicited you have no obligation to return them - they are considered a 'gift'. Enjoy your unexpected present from Royal Mail.0

Keep them. You may need them to post your Christmas cards in a few months time!
Any financial losses they might discover can be deducted from the CEO's remuneration of £753,000.

Is this a praise to Royal Mail?
May you find your sister soon Helli.

Big companies including RM have been making massive profits while people struggle and we all know under this government it's only getting worse, no brainer... keep the stamps.

Does it really take a lot of time and effort to contact RM and then post stamps back to them?
Have you recently tried contacting organisations? I seem to send numerous emails (mainly unanswered) and spend ages on the phone where I am continually told that my call is important (but not important enough for them to employ more operators).
I think the original poster has done their bit and should now only return the stamps if asked.

Although claiming it’s taken a decent amount of time to try to resolve seems to be stretching the point a little. One phone call/email and slinging an envelope in the post box in passing?
Send back or don’t send back according to your morals but don’t try to justify by claiming it’s been onerous to sort out.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
If it were me, I'd keep what I was owed and donate the rest to a charity0

This happened to me too. Isn't an isolated event.
Sent in around £90 worth of stamps, and they sent me the replacements in quadruplicate(to the value of £360).
They are managing the process with a spreadsheet, and either they are getting rows copied accidentally into different parts of the sheet, or they are processing the rows multiple times without marking them as done. (possibly different users sharing a single sheet on a network share or something, causing the 'last save' to win).
That is what the lady said to me on the phone when I reported it.0 -
RM will probably be relentless in trying to rectify their mistake, I would just destroy them, if they arent used they wont try to reclaim the money they are worth0
