Ryanair Booking System

Options
Hi all.
I want to book Ryan Air flights to Poland early November. It's now a while since I used Ryan Air and I'm unsure of the booking system.

When I select the dates and flights to correspond, it offers a price before you begin to add bags. There are a few options, one that offers a basic boarding with only a small bag, that is the price that it shows. The second states Regular which states Priority and 2 cabin bags and reserved seat, this is an additional £24 per flight. If I add this to my flight will I get my seat at no extra cost or will I have to pay more for that?
Kind regards Jeff.

You can have the Value fare that includes the small bag only.

Selecting Regular fare gives you two cabin bags (small and larger) and gives you free seat selection as you say.

Note, if you're not fussed about seat selection you can select a Value fare, and then add "Priority + 2 cabin bags" at the next stage. This will normally be cheaper, if you're not fussed about seat selection.

For the dummy booking I just did selecting Value fare, choosing the cheapest seats, and then adding "Priority + 2 cabin bags" was still cheaper that selecting Regular fare!

So moral of the story is try all options, it can be cheaper to build it all separately rather than choose Regular to start with, but I suspect this will vary from flight to flight.
  • Thank you for your helpful reply.
I also did a dummy booking, like you said it was a tad cheaper doing the additions.
My only concern, and it does seem to bother me is using a mobile phone for check in. My wife doesn't have a phone and relies on me sorting out the bookings and other issues.  Check in for the return journey has always been stressful, not too sure if it's four days before travel.

If you've paid to reserve a seat (either by paying separately or as part of a Regular Fare) then you can check in online upto 60 days before the flight. So unless its a very long trip you'll be able to check in for outbound and return before departure and print boarding passes
