Roaming charges
As a bit of a mobile phone 'dinosaur' could you give me an answer regarding roaming fees?
We are travelling to France for the first time post Brexit and COVID.
My husband has a very basic clamshell phone on EE PAYG. Will he get charged £2 per day if the phone is turned on but not being used? We understand there is a £10 option to cover charges if this is the case.
I have a smartphone on O2 (no roaming fees) so we won't be devoid of up to date technology.
Many thanks.

No, AFAIK you will only incur the charge if the phone is used with a chargeable event, ie incoming calls/texts will be free.
