As @bargepole says, more important for our success (this forum's agenda) will be whichever minister is put in direct charge of the private parking Code and regulation.
But I see that wheels have started to turn and Simon Clarke has been appointed as the new Secretary of State for the DLUHC. He has previously (2020) worked as a Minister in the then MHCLG.
Here is a 2020 speech that makes good reading:https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2020-06-02/debates/C12105C5-6E8E-4679-BD42-ED9345270F7A/PrivateCarParks
Google him, and you will also find facebook videos of part of the above speech, plus a recording of him on Times Radio speaking out against rogue PPCs.
Yet to see which Minister ends up directly in charge of the Parking Code, but we now have a SoS who has only 2 years ago, spoken out against 'bogus parking fines' and aggressive debt recovery with 'spiralling fees'. More than Michael Gove ever did.
Seems like good news.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As above, and if the snake oil salesmen of the parking industry thought they were going to get a soft touch who could be bamboozled by their spin and lies, they will have to think again.
Ideally, it would be good if Mr Clarke could bring back Neil O'brien into his former role for continuity, but these ministerial appointment decisions are made behind closed doors for reasons known only to themselves.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.6 -
Consiering that Neil O'brien has an oven ready package signed off by the Queen, to bring him back would be seen as a wise decision by the voters.

- Neil O’Brien MP as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department of Health and Social Care
Not sure of either's pedigree in terms of the private parking sector, but I'll take a cursory search to check on any 'previous'.- Dehenna Davison MP as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities
- Lee Rowley MP as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Lee Rowley's constituency is close to Sheffield. Probably received quite a bit of correspondence from constituents who have received PCN's from a certain PPC.

It is our job to make sure that Dehenna Davison MP and Lee Rowley MP fully understand the parking scam, the idiotic scam debt collectors and the so called legals who play the monopoly money gameUmkomaas said:

Worst off all, back in the POFA2012 days government put their trust in the BPA as an ATA ? The BPA betrayed this trust and allowed a board member to go forth and scam the public with fake add-ons.
ZZPS is the name, SCAM is their game ???
£50 per ticket is far too much in the crisis millions face today.
Max should be £30 with a 50% discount for quick payment
We know the BPA will be bleating to the DLUHC.... will the DLUHC actually want the Liz Truss premiership to be trashed so early with a SCAM ?
