Just wondered how long it takes them to generate a bill after submitting the end of month reading? Still waiting - am used to Octopus which was pretty much straight away.

  • From Green Energy, I have had 1 bill for gas for the period 26th July to 31 July with the bill date as 3 August.  I did submit this reading during the transfer process, but I'm not sure of the exact date I did it now.

However, I haven't had had a bill yet for electricity.

I have smart meters, and I have submitted readings for August too.

Fingers crossed, the bills will appear this week.

FWIW I submitted a gas meter reading to Octopus on the 31st and haven't had a bill yet either.

In my experience GEUK send you an email (and an app notification, if you have the app) when the bill is available, and the bill date itself is usually a couple of days earlier.

A quick scan of my inbox reveals the last few dates when I received a GEUK bill

However, I have no idea whether all customers get their bills on the same day!

Gas bills are sometimes delayed while the supplier waits to get the calorific values for the last few days of the month, they are not always immediately available...
  • May I ask how much time it takes for smart meters to work with GEUK?

Switch date was 11th of August, and smart meter is showing as Kwh charge as 0p (if only)! It can only show consumption in Kwh.

You'd have thought so , our switch was the 8th of Aug & no tariff data on the ihd yet so presume no readings sent to GEUK but there was an issue with opening & closing reads which only just seems to have been resolved.
Can't say  i'm overly concerned though as long as i've still got the live watt/ kW & the hourly/daily/ weekly kWh display,  it's the only readout that matters to me & never looked at the live usage cost.
