So, let me ask this question – How do you educate people not to drop litter?

    Why not try TV ads?

But of course you don't watch ads and if there are many like you they wouldn't see the ads.

I know you will argue that TV ads don't work and they didn't!! There were TV ads from the 1950s to at least the 1970s, but people still drop litter.

I was brought up not to drop litter, parentally (by example) and by the schools I attended. So if these forms of education are lacking, then it's going to be an uphill struggle.

If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • You got the answer eventually didn’t you.

    Could do.

    So a waste of money.

I was brought up not to drop litter, parentally

    Bingo !

But if the parents hadn't been brought up not to drop litter?

... And don’t get me started on those little helium capsules . . .
What exactly are those "little helium capsules"?  (If that's what they are... !)

I'd never seen them before a couple of years ago and now they're everywhere.

That's a good question. But don't people learn by example? My parents never dropped litter and it wasn't ever a big deal, we just always took our litter home with us whenever we had any. Stuffed in our pockets, mostly, although we never seemed to have much.

We also had projects at school about it, made posters etc., and my daughter also had the same thing when she was at school. The message gets through to some people so why not everyone?

Some people just don't seem to care. I've seen adults come out of shops and throw wrappers on the floor - any children they have with them obviously think that's acceptable. Learning by example to make a mess.

Maybe schools could do some training again. We could ask Liz Truss about it?   :/  (Sorry I don't mean to sound facetious but the government could maybe help and she is the newest broom. Pun intended.)

For cycle tyres, apparently some people use them for other things.

A gran and two very young children were going around picking up litter near where I live. I was a bit shy to congratulate them. Do you see this in your part of the world?

No, but then in this (rural) area there is not enough litter to keep anyone busy

You inhale the contents of the canister to deplete your body of vitamin B12 so you feel tired and lethargic because its fun(?)
The only consolation (hopefully) is that the canister is recyclable.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
