Changing to LED bulbs

You can tell by the wattage marked on them. Something marked at less than 10W, for example, is going to be LED.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Another question….. i looked at the box for LED lightbulb to see how much electricity it uses and all i can find is 10kWh/1000h and it lasts for 25 years at 2.7hours a day. Contains no mercury. Does 10kWh/1000h mean that if I have it on for 1000 hours it will use 10kW? I wish they would say how much kW per hour then I would understand! Thank you
Edit: does it mean it uses 0.01kWh per hour?0 -

thank you for your help
It should tell you somewhere. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1 -
I checked all my bulbs - some new lamps were LED, all GU10 in the kitchen & bathroom are LED, all others were fluoro of varying ages.
The only problem I have is that the hall & landing ceiling light have a bizarre fitting that is pronged, and as a result they have first gen energy saving bulbs which don't light up straight away. I will acquire 2 new rose fittings and ask sparky-over-the-road if he will swap them for me.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I think the 'bizarre fitting' may well be what is generally standard- a bayonet fitting.
Surely these must be very widely available?
Only one light in my house needs a screw in bulb
Or have I completely misunderstood??!!

Floss said:It's not a bayonet fitting, the other ceiling lights are but this is a 4-pin G24 fitting designed for fluouro bulbs. As I said, a bizarre pronged fitting.
The fittings arent hard to swap out with the right screwdrivers and a bit of care1 -
Jumping on here with an LED question
I have a fancy light fitting. Looks like 5 modon candles takes g9 i think . Changed 4 to led.as only had 4 in the pack.left one as halogen.. just changed the last one to led and it doesnt work
. Put the halogen one back in and it lights up .?today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

There's nothing bizarre about the G24's. They're actually quite common but I can understand they would seem peculiar to an unadorned home user.
They're used to get the maximum beam of light. Some 180 degrees and some a full 360 degrees.
I would think very carefully about swapping the fittings out, especially as the replacement LED bulbs come in at low wattage anyway.Liv

Put the halogen one back in and it lights up .?Could just be duff LED, have you tried it in another holder?Take one of the working LEDs and replace the halogen with it, if it works you know you have a duff LED, double check by putting it, the new LED, in a working LED holder. Just a process of elimination really, no magic neededEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
