Commercials and advertising.

I was pleasantly surprised by how few commercials there were on a recent thing I watched on the UKTV play website - two 70 seconds at the start, then two breaks with just 9 seconds of ads. Less than 3 minutes total over the entire programme is pretty fair, I'd say. 9 seconds is barely enough time to top up a glass of water if you're already in the kitchen, let alone make a cuppa.0

I do enjoy classical music so was a avid listener with Classic FM – I did say was, the commercials got to me in the end, you have a commercial with someone brushing their teeth, it did my head in. Moved over to radio 3, admittedly a bit more highbrow.

I mute adverts too, even if I go make a brew. The adverts can seem louder than the programme I find. Very annoying.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

So not only are they visually annoying, they are audibly deafening. In short a bloody nuisance.

For me, 100% it does not – that is my point.
RogerBareford said:But ofcourse your have been influenced by adverts! So your saying you never try any new products and never buy anything new?Anything I buy is governed by price. If their is a advert for bottled water it does not induce me to buy the product, tap water is fine by me, chlorine be dammed. Does Aldi advertise on tv? If I need to buy toothpaste the cheapest brand will do, I’m not even influence by their junk mail that come in the post – straight in the bin without a curiosity look.
Subliminal adverts/messages won’t effect me, and i doubt Stockholm syndrome would have any impact on me either. I’m head strong and resolute.
I'm not talking about "Subliminal adverts" or things like that i'm just talking about adverising that informs you about a product or service. You say that you have never been influenced by "adverts in any sharp or form" which if that was true would mean you never buy anything.Have you never bought or rented a house? If you look on rightmove or an estate agents website and decide to view a house then you have been influenced by advertising as that is how they advertise properties. Even if you looked in their window display or saw a sign infront of the house that is also advertising.I really doubt anyone would just buy the cheapest possible property and not consider any other factors.Do you really buy the cheapest product of everthing you buy? The cheapest possible smartphone, the cheapest computer, the cheapest furniture? If that's the case you house must be full of the worst products you can imagine that are always breaking and don't work properly. When researching a product it's always best to buy a compromise between price, quality and features to get the best product. If you have ever research a product you will have undoubtedly seen an advert of some sort and then considered that product.I would go as far as saying if you just dismiss all products just because you see an advert and only go for the cheapest of the cheap that is the opposite of money saving as you won't get what you actually want/need and it will likely be the cheapest rubbish and have to be replaced often.
