Why is my electricity usage so much higher in Winter?

Thanks dunstonh - my OLED is a 55in C1, so will be pretty similar to the CX.
I have 3 Q mini boxes which (given only a few years old) I'd have assumed were a lot better on standby. So much for that assumption!

The best way to get a handle is a device such as Emporia Evo that lets you monitor every single circuit at the circuit board. It can then show the data by the minute, hour, day, week, month, year and so on. You can even drill into individual circuits and check historical graphs.
However, when I was monitoring individual devices, the biggest energy users I found were PCs, games consoles, emersers and electric fires. Another huge user is the oven.1 -

Very simple - you start turning things off at the plugs and see what happens
It also lets you monitor things such as ovens and integrated appliances where its not so easy to plug in a smart plug to monitor.
The other thing you may find is that though there is only 1 breaker, there could be more than one ring circuit attached to it.0 -
Ok people - safety alert here - don't go fiddling with cables inside your consumer unit (fuse box) unless you are a competent electrician, know what you are doing, and have isolated the relevant parts.4

And if you do find more than one ring circuit off a breaker get it fixed!Living the dream in the Austrian Alps.2

BUFF said:also boiler pump will be running in winter to circulate hot water to rads ( & to Megaflo) but not summer. Especially if it is older it will be noticeable.
In my case my winter electricity consumption is ~20kWh/month above summer.
Lighting, TV on longer, kettle boiled more for few more hot drinks, and oven use (electric for me).
One of the surprising things I took note of 4 years ago was my December usage was always 15-20 kWh's more, it for me thinking for a few hours but when the penny dropped it was obvious. The answer being I have 2 sets of 200 led tree light's which get used anywhere between 5-12 hours a day from the first till the first week of January.
So take note people that decorate the whole of the outside of their property. As the op doesn't say which month or period it's from to, the above could be a big factor into it as will many find out this year.0
