Thought I'd share this as might be helpful to someone.

We're expecting our energy DD to be somewhere north of £700 a month after October 1st so I have invested in an energy monitor plug, about £15 on Amazon to check various appliances around the house, as I cannot believe we are very high users (I know the heating is 2-3 units a day for hot water only, we haven't put any heating on recently.)

Findings so far, based on 26p per kwh:

Laptop uses around 2-3p an hour
XBOX is 2-3p an hour
Tumble Dryer, 80p an hour
Washing Machine 50p a wash - 1hr 45m
PC, Monitor and router (same plug) 4p an hour
Fridge Freezer 3p an hour  (measured again over 12 hour period)
Slow Cooker 3p an hour (on "low")
Dishwasher 75p a cycle (2 hours)
Electric Fire/Heater 52p an hour
Fish tank (filter/pump) 5p per day
It's 3p to boil half a kettle of water. (about 3 cups worth, say 500ml)
Electric Shower (ours is 10.5 kW/h) around £2.60 per hour

I will update as I think it's worth doing some of these over longer time frames as some consumption is very erratic (laptop is 8 W up to 16 W etc)  Got a few more applicances to check will report back.

You can almost double the above after October 1st based on the new price "cap".

(I've edited some of the above as I've measured again over longer time frames, some appliances usage fluctuates quite a bit over short time spans, also added some new things)

    Fridge freezer 15p an hour? That's £1300 a year.

Our dishwasher is fairly good in that it tells you the estimated power and water consumption before starting a programme and tells you the actual afterwards. Some programmes are "auto" and so operate at a range of temps and durations depending on what it thinks about how much dirt there is to remove. They are massively lower numbers than what our old unit used even on the new ones quick wash.

Typo, it's 5p but I am going to double check that over a longer timeframe.

I did similar back in Feb/March, I left the freezer and fridge freezer plugged in for a month to get data over a longer period and both used an average of 0.5 kWh a day over that period. We are fixed at an all in 42p/kWh so 21p a day, less than a penny an hour.
The washing machine and tumble dryer we measured over 2 months and used on average 1.4 kWh per load each, we use 30, 40 & 60 degree washes and only tumbled cotton at the time which is a 2 hr 20 dry load. that makes the wash load 59p (plus detergent) and the TD 25p/hour
The multicooker on slow uses 0.46kWh for 6 hours so on our tariff that is 3p an hour

We have a pretty big (but not American style) FF, A++ on the old scale. I don't have a socketable monitor, but when we were away for a week, the IHD recorded a total of 5kWh with just the FF and burglar alarm powered, I estimate the split as 4/1 so about 570Wh a day.
Of course no one was opening the doors during all that time which would have helped. The manufacturer estimates 698Wh a day which looks to be a pretty reasonable estimate. About £140/y at the new cap.
