Wizz Air - Compensation for Welfare etc Costs

A Wizz Air flight of mine was cancelled from Poland. As there was no other Wizz Air flight available I bought a return flight from Ryanair. Wizz Air have now accepted they will refund the Ryanair flight cost (but from the wrong amount!) but have rejected welfare etc costs such as hotel etc because I didn't get a replacement flight with Wizz. Welcome views on this. I'm planning to take to dispute resolution.
It appears they have also accepted 'EU' compensation judging by status on my profile although they have made no payment yet.

How did you apply for thisMy son plus 7 friends had their return Cyprus flight cancelled whilst onboard the plane .This was a Wednesday and the wizz air next flight wasn't until Tuesday. Most of them had to get back for various reasons so they booked a Friday flight (18hrs ) via Rome landing saturday morning (£530)They put them up in a 5* hotel but only paid for 1night , so they had to pay the rest and meals + transport back to the airport.Obviously they want the flight and hotel money back etc and the separate compensation moneyDid you make 2 seperate claims , have you got the linksthanks0

Wizz air have a prescriptive process for making claims. You need to log into your account and make claims from there by completing their on line forms and attaching receipts. There are separate claims forms for 1) making claims to refund fights and welfare and 2) claiming for compensation under EU regs. Be aware that the maximum number of attachments (copies of receipts) their system will accept under 1) is five - so make sure everything is scanned onto no more than five attachments (you can claim for more than five items). You can then track your claim from within your account. Be aware their emails can easily end up in junk / spam and are easy to miss. (If your cynical the way they use subject in their emails (long reference numbers) increases the risk their emails get filtered into junk / spam - and then they threaten to close down cases if you don't respond within five days - much shorter than their response times)nyck said:How did you apply for thisMy son plus 7 friends had their return Cyprus flight cancelled whilst onboard the plane .This was a Wednesday and the wizz air next flight wasn't until Tuesday.
