Easyjet Flights Price changed within 24 hours of Booking

after some advice please.

I have booked Easyjet flights on Monday 29.Aug.2022 (approx 00:20) total price was £209. for flights on 8.Sept > 11.Sept

wouldn't mind after booking them I tried to cancel as I was told I'd booked the wrong date (Thursday outward instead of Wednesday)
despite trying to contact Easyjet via Livechat straight away, I was advised to make a change it would cost £42.

having just checked Easyjet website the same flights/times are showing at £140 ?

are there any options open to me ?
obviously I can't contact Easyjet now until tomorrow either

If it was within 24 hours of booking it looks like you would have been better cancelling and then making a new booking
Flight cost £209, cancel within 24 hours, lose £49 fee, buy new flight for £140....total cost then is £189.
Change flight, fee £42 and no refund if the new flight is cheaper, total cost £231

including "No credit is given if the new fare is lower"

pretty sure it is still showing as the option to cancel both flights
** only shows now as change flight !!!

How do you cancel a booking if there's NO option open to do it.
when I tried to change/cancel the booking within 10-20 minutes of making it with Livechat I was quoted at £42 (to change ?)

did you ask live chat how to cancel?
if you told them you wanted to change the flight then the fee quoted was correct

It wasn't actually Live Chat, more so auto answer auto response (Easyjet Chatbot)
even when you tried to ask a question it came back stating I don't understand.

the only option I was offered within 10-20 minutes of booking was a £42 charge to change the booking. 
as I was asking about changing the original outward flight from the Thursday to the day earlier.

although that was before the massive price drop from £210 to £140 now ?
the flight now on the Wednesday is only £36
