Painting the landing (Inc coving!)

Guys, at some point fairly soon I'm gonna have to paint pir landing. I have a ladder I can lean against the wall as you walk down stairs, which will allow me to reach a fair amount. However, there is still some bits I'll not be able to reach...
In put old place, which also had coving I bolted a cutting in brush to a broom handle and did this, combined with a roller on a pole it was an okay job. The two colours, white and sail white were not too dis similar though so it came out decent.
How do you guys do this without some seriously tall ladders, scaffolding, or some fancy setup?
I'm tempted by my brush on a pole idea again!

Which bit will you struggle to reach with a ladder? It all looks doable.0

Get a folding ladder. Was massively helpful on the stairs when painting our loft conversion.

Scaffold tower - It is the only way I feel save enough to work in my stairwell. Bought one a couple of years back knowing that a ladder wasn't going to be suitable for some of the stuff I need to do - https://www.aluminium-scaffoldtowers.co.uk/product-category/domestic-diy-towers/heavy-duty-diy/ - Small enough to assemble in most stairwells, but once up, you are not going to be able to use the stairs. The alternative is a couple of ladders and a short deal or two. But that always looks a bit dodgy to my mind.

Combi ladders and a plank for me0

i used a roller on an extension handle for most of it. Did the bit near the ceiling with a cutting in brush which i clamped into a brush holder gadget which in turn screws into the same extension handle. I found the brush holder thing in an old fashioned decorating shop.It was very easy to stand on the upstairs landing and walk along doing the cutting in. I did get a couple of blobs on the ceiling. I tied a sock then a wet cloth onto the end of the extension handle and gently scrubbed them off with this. That bit was not so easy!0

Get a proper level surface to stand on and that involves a plank and a ladder.PS. Just looking at the photo again there is no flat surface to place the plank on at the upper end because of the the winding stairs, or more precisely to set the chair on which the plank can sit on there. You might have to hire a special ladder for stairs from HSS or other plant hire firm.0

A combination platform ladder such as this one would be the way to go - Werner Combination Ladder 5 in 1 with Platform (laddersukdirect.co.uk)
The one in the link is expensive but you can pick up cheaper versions and they come in very handy, mine gets a lot of use not just in the house but outside for cutting hedges etc.
I can see your problem though as you don't have a full width step at the top of the main rise so it's difficult to put a ladder there.0 -

A couple of piccies showing the setup for a stable and safe working platform.

I've used mine with a roller and brush. Also with a filling knife to repair external render and a selfie stick to photograph the roof. Being able to adjust the angle makes painting much easier than taping a brush to a pole.
