The Ombudsman accepted a complaint from me against Together Energy when they had not responded at all for 8 weeks to any complaint - forget going thru their complaints procedure !!

That’ll be because the Ombudsman will look at complaints if you’ve given the provider 8 weeks to deal with it and they haven’t. 

I produced evidence to show that I had contacted them on several occasions to resolve a billing issue and had no replies to either emails or letters for more than 8 weeks .That was good enough for the O.E to accept the case. The OP has been trying to set an account up since March - long enough one feels!

That may depend on who the issue is with, which doesn't seem entirely clear at the moment.
