Confused by Eon energy bills. Am I being fiddled?

Hi, I've just been looking on the EonNext app as I just paid this month's bill. My account was in credit last month. My energy usage for this month was HALF the cost of my monthly payment but they say my account is now in debit. Surely it should be even more in credit? I"m confused. I have contacted them by email and…

My direct debit to E.On Next takes two or three working days to be credited to my account. The DD taken from my bank last Thursday still hasn't been credited, nor would I have expected it to be. Going by past experience it'll probably be updated sometime during the day tomorrow.
