Simplify - Made a start on the decluttering of my home office, filled up one bag for life with toys and another with clothes, will take these on Monday to a local family centre. Also made a start on sorting out paperwork ready to be shredding, the shredded paper will be used to pad out my ebay parcels, recycling at its best.
Essentials - 2ns spend free day today as I work from home again today, didn't finish until after 5 meeting over ran, did want to pop to the post office, on my list for tomorrow.
Eat to nourish your mind and body and support your immune system - Managed to drink three large glasses of water today and cut back on the cuppas. I love a cup of tea and must drink over 10 a day, water will become my new cuppa.
Mindfulness - Awake at silly o clock today, so I went and sat outside and watched the sun rise, it was so peaceful sitting in the garden and gave me time to gather my thoughts for the day. Lovely start to the day.
Exercise - Three mile done on the exercise bike this morning, decide that I am going to try and do 100 miles by the end of the month, hopefully I will get quicker as the month goes along. 5/100.
Hope everyone has had a good day!

Yay it’s Friday
Simplify - Nothing here today.
Essentials - Out with my friend & her daughter this evening so won’t be an NSD.
Planning & Preparation- Nothing here today.
Think about spends - Will take cash out tonight so can control and keep tabs on what I’m spending.
Eat to nourish - Woke at 5am. Snoozed on and off until 8 felt rubbish all day. Good good today including fruit & veg. Burnt my fingertips on the hob whilst cooking tea - Ouch!!Mindfulness - At work I’m taking my time over things and not trying to do 3 things all at once.
Be kind - Worked from home instead of stressing about parking at the office. Sat outside with a cuppa after work and just watched the birds in the big tree at the back of our house.
Exercise - Definitely completed more than 40 mins playing badminton and then basketball with DS.

NSD 1/15 today.Made dinner with the reduced sausages I bought yesterday. And saved a portion to take to work with me tomorrow. I'll go to the coffee shop tomorrow as I have a reward on their app for a free piece of cake from my birthday. I will not buy a drink while I'm there!I'll be walking so that's my half hour exercise each way. Didn't go anywhere today so no exercise in the bag.I'll have to grab milk and bread tomorrow but that should be everything we need. I'll top up the grocery shopping on Tuesday. It's a pain to get paid in dribs and drabs but I am grateful to know I have a steady income.11

Today has been a good day. Some small progress being made with s/gs estate, and the top two floors of my house were totally cleaned and cleared and hoovered, and the kids' bedrooms back to order after a very lax approach over the holidays. But I now have a mountain of laundry after all the beds were stripped and remade, and all their dirty laundry was stolen. Their clean laundry was rescued and put away. Why do boys not put things away in drawers???? (except mugs and bowls)So I will hide out on your canal boat and be a dangerous radical instead. Plans for the weekend include scrumping at the local community orchard, baking cakes, and avoiding filling up the car with petrol until Monday. Haircuts still needed.Congratulations on your first viewing @grandmanerd4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

🤞 for tomorrow @grandmanerd !
Counting today as another NSD, bought 2 items from a shop for next door neighbour, but will be reimbursed tomorrow.
Had a good day at work, there was a blip but remedied after half an hour of calming down (pupil not me!). The sun was out but turned a bit cooler near teatime. Took mum shopping after work, pinned a customer into her dress, hoping to sew it in the morning & drop it off. I'm staying the night at my mum's, so we've been chatting about being thrifty & I've finished another ball of wool in my crocheting. The blanket is getting quite big now, so keeps me warm at the same time 😃
Grateful for like minded people, receiving the first cost of living installment, it being Fri-yay & the weekend stretching before me.Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

SIMPLIFY - the more I do this challenge and the more I recognise what is needed vs. wanted the more I am simplifying. I really like this aspect of the journey, its certainly not an overnight process. I will keep on keeping on with this.
ESSENTIALS - certainly this is a given now.
PLANNING and PREPARATION - with autumn appearing I am planning for the colder weather and how to be warm, cook and dry clothes. I have been researching! Clothes to be sorted and simplified in a couple of weeks so that cozy clothes are in easy reach.
THINK ABOUT EVERY PURCHASE - gosh yes, this has, and continues to be a journey.
EAT to nourish your MIND and BODY and support your IMMUNE SYSTEM. Will do!
MINDFULNESS - yes I'm in.
BE KIND - will do
EXERCISE 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes - will do
REPORT DAILY (if possible), report things to be grateful for (even a bad day will have some golden moments). REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, REPAIR, REPURPOSE, then RECYCLE. Get your brain working on creative solutions, save money, reduce waste.
So part of why I have been absent is some developments at work for promotion and pay rise. The pay rise is so far from what was hoped for. So in negotiation and I have been budgeting and budgeting some more.
No NSD yet...
Grateful for food in the fridge going further than I plan for, refund from gas and electric - I have been being very careful! and making a plan to save £1,500 per month.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0
Overpayment on mortgage: £0

Friday updateDropped DS at school then joined some other parents to cut more resources for the classrooms.Stayed for 3 hours and had some good chat with the other Mums. Really enjoying helping out and mentioned that I’d be interested in getting involved with the parent / teacher council. One of the mum’s said she’d send me the info.Walked home which was around 20 minutes.Picked up DS from school, home, fed, washed and back out for a free trial of a kids’ guitar class. He also had a free trial of a drama class on Monday. When I asked him last night which class he’d prefer to go to he chose drama. So drama it is!For the last two years I’d been transferring Mum £ to cover costs of picking up DS from nursery, using her electricity to cook and entertain him, and buying food. But before he started school she told me to stop sending the money so I’m using it to cover his classes: drama, swimming, football.Staying on NSD 1/15 because I bought some ingredients for dinner.Grateful today for Mum’s endless generosity and support, for chat with Mums at the school, for Mums in general because where would we be without them?Saturday plansToday is grocery delivery day so staying on NSD 1/15.OH will take DS to his football class this morning which gives me an opportunity to tidy/clean and get a washing on.This afternoon OH is going to a football game with his parents and DS and I are going to the flix. I managed to nab two £3 tickets as part of National Cinema Day today. Thanks MSE newsletter! I’ll make some homemade popcorn to take with us.Grateful this morning for tea in bed, £3 cinema tickets, the MSE newsletter, my family, and precious time with our wee boy.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸10

Morning! Update on yesterday;
1. Eat/drink to nourish mind and body - still needs some work. Ate way too much of the banana loaf again, as well as chocolate. I'm trying to take a break from alcohol and the sweet tooth is on overdrive as a result. Started off today well with porridge, raisins and cinnamon. Off to gym class at 8.30 too.
2. Yoga, meditation, exercise - YWA 1st thing and took our woof on an hour walk yesterday too.
3. Gratitudes - forgot to journal before bed to review my day but did journal throughout the day which helped me realise that I need to set reminders on my phone to check my journal and my goals regularly throughout the day and this might help with reaching for the wrong foods. Today, I'm super grateful for cuddles with my doggy, no hangover and feeling much more positive over last few days now I'm back in control of a few areas of my life.
4. NSDs - 2/10 - hoping to make today no. 3.
5. Pause before purchases - Youngest DD wants to go out today. I explained how careful we're having to be with money and that we could go on a picnic. She was made up with that! Never too old for a picnic!
