I don't think you are out of step, Suffolksue. I for one certainly wouldn't want any of those individuals as my head of state. I was listening to the church bells ringing in my little town at noon today and i fully admit to feeling choked up and shedding a tear. She was a remarkable lady.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9

My eyes teared up watching Huw Edwards deliver the news - he had pink and teary eyes and that just got to me.
I agree that 96 is a great age - and she seems to have died peacefully, at home and with (some) family around her and with her faculties intact right up until the end. I'm sure many of us would like to go that way. However, I am not watching the same things on repeat/ being rehashed again and again. But it is still sad - we shall not see her like again.
Thankful today for a dry day (line dried washing - whoop), getting a good amount of work done, working from home, it being Fri-yay, watching the squirrel in the garden.

ThursdayStayed on NSD 5/15Thanks @BadBookkeeper for the @rgos tip. I ordered some birthday gifts in the 2 for £30 section. And then I ordered a couple of sprout day ones for DS. I also bought tickets for a local fireworks display.FridayStill on NSD 5/15Helped out at DS’s school for a couple of hours and walked the 20 minutes home. Went to the shops to buy a couple of items for tonight’s dinner, and some bits for DS’s Halloween costume (reusing last year’s costume but needs a couple of adjustments to work).Grateful today for spending time helping out at school away from screens, for a dry spell drying our washing, and for a free trial on an audiobook site (downloaded a title and will delete before subscription starts).Have a relaxed weekend turtles x

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday as had a pretty full on day. Went to meet my new part-time job employer to sort out my DBS, they seem really nice plus it's zero hours so no regular commitment if I can't make it. Then went onto full-time job for my final day, lots of goodbyes and chats, as well as meetings to get through. Didn't leave until 7.30! Luckily I bought lunch and dinner with me so no unnecessary spends.
Today I went to get my haircut, didn't realise the price had gone up so it was more than I'd budgeted for, slightly annoying but happy with the results. Then went for brunch with my new boss/friend. Also popped to the supermarket for a couple of things that were missing from my shop. I must admit I've overspent a bit so I need to rein things in for a week or so to get back on track.8 -
My ex husband got married today.
A bit of a shock.
Very very mixed feelings.

Oh beanie, that's a shock indeed. Have some turtle hugs and snuggle up by the fire on the barge with some hot chocolate.

Simplify - Nothing yesterday or today.
Essentials - nothing spent today but did spend yesterday so that’s 5/15 NSDs.
Planning & Preparation - DS has decided to quit scouts. I can’t say I’m surprised. Just need to plan how to word an email as I am
on the committee it’s a bit awkward! Will also plan what to spend the savings on. Not sure whether to stick it in the school trips pot or do something with him myself maybe swimming.
Think about spends - Spends yesterday were groceries, fuel, school swimming and weekend away. Our centre parcs activities are now available to book so will be planning those over to the weekend within our budget.
Eat to nourish - I have been rubbish these last 2 days and I can feel it! No proper meals and lots of snacking.Mindfulness - When DS told me he wanted to finish scouts I actively listened to his reasons and noticed his relief when I said I think he’s made the right decision.
Be kind - My friend is coming here tonight. Think she’s had a tough week so thinking about some fun things we could do so she/we have something to look forward to. That also covers being kind to me!
Exercise - Really need to or buy size bigger clothes!

Spendy day yesterday, will be today and tomorrow! Not good planning. I am going up to Nottingham for My daughter's birthday lunch today. So food plan and shopping tomorrow.
Grateful for stepping outside yesterday evening, with no intention and finding myself in the park - amidst the last of the roses. a couple of frogs gone, and dying my hair.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

Morning,
I too feel sad having lost HM, but also grateful for the life she had. I'm struggling when I turn on the tv though - its constant and on repeat. It's definitely not helping my state of mind! You can't even switch your brain off by watching something mind-numbing because every channel's schedule has been halted! I'm not a massive tv lover but DH and I sit down for an hour together every night to watch something together - it's our only me time....maybe its a sign we need to do something else?!
Update on yesterday.....
Gratitude - Getting lots of work done and being able to help a colleague. Proud of DD2 for a great first 2 days back in year 10. Thankful for all the little things that make me happy - especially my morning routine!
NSDs/ Pausing before purchasing still on 4/10 NSDs.
Yoga/Meditation meditation done this morning - no yoga. My neck has gotten worse and is spreading down my back. Won't be making my Saturday morning gym class, but I am going to walk the dog instead.
Eating and drinking just focussing on drinking 2L of water a day - I managed 1.5L yesterday.
Have a lovely Saturday all!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.10
