Buying a house in Birmingham

OP Birmingham is a big city. Can we have more info please about your plans.
Where do you work and how do you commute.
Is the house for you or are you planning to share.
What size of mortgage can you get.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
I think the simple answer is no. If you and a partner both earn £25K each and you have a 10% deposit….. yes. I live in Moseley atm and am looking to escape.0

SIL managed to get a dump of a 2-bed ex-council house for £154k, she is between Longbridge and Kings Norton station. She is a popular neighbour as she can't drive and the parking is a nightmare! That is on a £40k income and with a 15% deposit, she felt she was pushing herself to be able to afford that and commute. You might need to look at studio apartments to keep within budget. It's been a while since I lived down that way, but Walsall was much more affordable. Or perhaps shared ownership might get you a 2-bed flat?0
