    I got one of those

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255695238509?hash=item3b889fb56d:g:xiMAAOSweDBi~Ffg

    Pros
    1024Wh
    1000w with 2000w peak
Parallel AC adapter and USB C charging
    Price

    Cons
Display only shows percentage and not current use
No fast charging (like 80% in 1 hour)

You might want to consider use of a laptop instead of you desktop when it comes to black outs. Even the 1KW battery would not be sufficient for a whole day.

On the other hand I doubt that a planned black out will last longer than 4 hours, and black outs during peak hours seem more likely than during working hours.

What’s your car position like? Get an EV with Vehicle to load capability, Kia Hyundai and MG are the 3 that have models with this capability.

Hi. Thanks for the link. I was looking more towards the 2500 kwh device. Due to the nature of my wife's work a desktop pc is needed. I agree that the vast majority of blackouts should be limited in length so the larger storage device should cope.

Don't forget that there is a strong possibility that you would lose your internet connection if there was a local power cut as the fibre cabinets have very limited back up power.
  • If your mrs can do her work on a laptop/chromebook then there are plenty that will go for 12+ hours with standard use. You could get a spare battery to double that. £200/£300

Very simple to buy a dongle with internet (Argos) that will go for several hours without being plugged in, but anyway they are low power devices so would run for days with a power bank. £50

Assumnig she doesn't have to use her desktop PC there really is no problem and the solution would be ready to go anytime.
