Apologies if this should be obvious but did you have something specific in mind by your question 'Are we vulnerable?'0

I think the criteria for the cost of living payments is fairly clearly set out isn’t it? Do you receive qualifying benefits, for example?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
Balance as at 01/09/23 = £115,000.00 Balance as at 31/12/23 = £112,000.00
Balance as at 31/08/24 = £105,400.00 Balance as at 31/12/24 = £102,500.00
£100k barrier broken 1/4/25
Balance as at 31/08/25 = £ 95,450.00. Balance as at 31/12/25 = £ 91,100.00

Do you claim any benefits other than your state pension? If not, check potential eligibility with these two calculators
https://www.entitledto.co.uk/
https://benefits-calculator.turn2us.org.uk/
(Or worth doing a check anyway if you do claim some financial help already, just to make sure you're not missing out on anything.)
Cost of Living payments are mostly for those who claim certain benefits - means-tested, and/or disability.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/cost-of-living-payment
As you are a pensioner you will be entitled to an extra £300 on top of your Winter Fuel payment.
You will get the £400 energy credit to your electricity account. You should also have had the £150 council tax rebate, if you live in a property in bands A-D.2 -
And you've been asked, are you on any state benefits?maxmycardagain said:
