Recommendations for a heat Pump Dryer ?

My current tumble dryer is on its last legs and will need to be replaced before the winter, so it probably makes sense to buy a Heat Pump Dryer now.
Any recommendations for a decent one for around £600 ish ? Ideally a ‘direct drain” one that can be plumbed in rather than having to empty the water all the time.

We have just bought this (about a month ago)

and I couldn't be happier with it. It has the option to be plumbed in or empty via a drawer but honestly the container is at the top of the machine and is so easy to empty. I was concerned it would take longer to dry than my old vented tumble dryer but honestly I do not see much difference. I just click the cupboard dry button and press start, no guessing how long I have to set a timer.
I am so glad we bought this as like you said, it makes sense to go down this route now due to energy saving costs.0 -
I bought a new Samsung and love it0

I also have a Samsung https://www.samsung.com/uk/washers-and-dryers/dryers/9kg-white-dv90t5240aw-s1/
it’s really good, drains either into the box or the main drain.2006 LBM £28,000+ in debt.

I don't remember which model but we have a Bosch, 18 months old, which drains like the washing machine through the waste pipe.It also has a self cleaning filter, you know, the big concertina type thing at the very bottom of the machine tht you usually have to pull out and rinse every so often. I like not having to do that as I used to forget.
Price tag would definitely have been in your area.

We got a John Lewis badged AEG one about four years ago. Very happy with it.
One thing though - as Doozergirl mentioned, some have a fixed condenser unit right at the bottom and others have a removable one. Mine is fixed and is a bit of a pain to clean, every 6 - 8 months. Doozergirls sounds ideal if it is self cleaning.
If I was looking to buy one again, I would pay particular attention to how this unit is cleaned. I didn't even know it had one when I bought ours.
We use the internal method of waste water storage - it's a big bottle and not really a bother to empty.
Every now and then I save some of the waste water and strain it through coffee filter paper. I store the filtered water and use it to fill my steam iron. The lack of scale in the water means my iron is as good as new.1 -

That’s good to know it doesn’t appear to take much longer to dry as reading some reviews, they say they take 3 hours which seems a bit 😮 but then really nowadays to more down to cost to run so as long as they are saving money then I guess the time is irrelevantkoalakoala said:I bought a new Samsung and love itjonnydeppiwish! said:I also have a Samsung https://www.samsung.com/uk/washers-and-dryers/dryers/9kg-white-dv90t5240aw-s1/

That’s good to know about the self cleaning, thank you. Yes we have to clean out our current Zanussi condenser thing and it’s a pain! That’s not a feature I’ve seen with Samsung so might be an added plus!JohnB47 said:We got a John Lewis badged AEG one about four years ago. Very happy with it.

Decided to go with Samsung in the end as they have a promotion to include a 5 year warranty, whereas everything else was 1 or 2 years. So many mixed reviews online for all the makes so 🤞🏼We decided to buy the matching washing machine aswell 🙈1

Those are the ones I have, same colour. Love them0

You still have filters to clean.
We went grundig, Beco with 5y warranty
Works a treat.
Make sure you have a decent washer with efficient spin(not speed).
There have been various tech changes on HP so compare carefully.

Logik one from Curry's works absolutely fine. £2994.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0
