Replacement heating

I live in a 1930s semi with a double storey side extension completed in 2000 by previous owners. We are shortly to commence a further single storey extension to the back.
We presently have an old combi gas boiler that needs replacing and ideally I would like to go for the most “eco friendly” option. I’ve started to try and look into this but it’s hard to know how/where/who to ask. On the one hand people seem to say a blanket 1930s houses aren’t suitable for heat pumps (although it’s fully insulated in the loft, new double glazing, bay windows insulated, I won’t consider cavity wall due to location and due to the extensions there’s far greater newer external walls than originals anyway), and then on the other hand people seem to do complex looking calculations that I can’t fathom about heat loss etc to determine how viable it would be.
Any advice re where to find/who to ask for simple honest advice about this would be much appreciated. TIA

Given that you may get a COP of ~3 heatpumps are greener but they most likely are not cheaper to run than gas & even with the govts £5k grant will be more expensive to install than a replacement combi.
You will also need a stored hot water tank.
Your existing radiators may not be large enough to run a heatpump efficiently so they may need replacing too (tbh this may also be true of getting a new condensing combi to run at it's most efficient).
Where you live also makes a difference - the colder it gets in winter the lower your COP will get.
Whatever you go for I am a big fan of updating your controls - they should pay for themselves in energy saving over the life of the heating appliance.

You'll also find a few more threads on heat pumps on that page.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
