The judge did not mention this though so probably was not aware of it.
So basically the CCBC paid this Claimant and you are not hugely out of pocket but this is an utter travesty that will now see them discontinue.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they discontinue (they will!) you could consider filing a claim against Britannia for the money, on the basis that they (their legal advisers) knew you had defended, knew it was a CCBC error (...how soon did you copy them in or tell them that?) and yet refused to return the money once the defence was reinstated, then abruptly discontinued what they knew was (all along) a defended case.
Might be worth it, only costs £35 to file it on MCOL and puts you in the driving seat this time. But after all this, expect BW to fight it tooth and nail. And pleading the above in a legally compelling way, might be a step too far.
Sadly you can't get the £180 back because that was legal costs on the order of a pedantic Judge. And your local court sound like they might not see the legal merit in your claim, if that Judge is anything to go by. You could be worse off if they stitch you up again with costs.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
