Lyca mobile port in issue

Hoping someone can help/reassure me!

I signed up for the Lyca 1p per month for 12gb data deal. I managed to complete the port in form as I want to keep my old number. I got a text yesterday to say port in was successful, however I've realised today that when I make calls it shows my old number, but if send texts they are coming from the new Lyca number and I can't call the old number. And I'm not receiving texts sent to the old number.
Is it just a case of port in taking a couple of days to fully complete or is it something that Lyca have done. I really want to keep my old number.

Also I tried to register online so I could manage the account and was eventually successful, but now can't seem to get logged back in...has anyone else had this issue?

Are Lyca "ok" as it all seems a bit "iffy"?..every communication I get from them seems to have slightly dodgy grammar and not very clear as to what it's for.

Having had to buy a new mobile phone (previous one stopped working and too old to be worth fixing), I decided to review the contract I was on and thought it would be good idea to save some money and switch my SIM too... I'm normally one for spending ages researching, but needed to get this sorted quickly so perhaps foolishly just jumped on the deal without fully investigating, but thought with it being through MSE it would be ok...but I'm starting to think I maybe should have stuck with Tesco as I was only paying £6 and won't get that again 😢

For me, no. I lasted less than a week with them. Ported in my number from Lebara which went o.k.. Almost non existent signal locally and no wifi calling. That meant I couldn't stay. I should have waited porting my number though, my error there.
They seemed very reluctant to provide a PAC for me to go back to Lebara (their 1p/month offering). PAC by text was always greeted by sorry it's failed. Used live chat - "you need to text for a PAC."
After numerous attempts, and long waiting times, managed to get through by phone(322). In spite of their website advising that a PAC may be obtained by contacting CS, "You need to text for a PAC."
Eventually after a couple of days trying I managed to receive a texted PAC.
All they seem to offer, if contacting them, is a 50% reduction on a bundle to try and entice remaining, without a solution for why you called.
English is not their first language which is fairly obvious when speaking and by the poor grammar in comms. Pleasant enough though.
I too, had account log in issues, invalid or some similar message. Eventually managing to log in after many attempts using the same information!

    Thanks for your reply.

I managed to get through to someone on the online chat and it seems like the issues been sorted and the port in of my old number has worked.

I went with Lyca rather than Lebara as need to be on the O2 network to get a decent signal where I live.
I guess I'll give it a little while and see how it goes!

That was my initial reason with the Vodafone signal being poor locally. Hoping O2 was better. It was worse plus no Lyca wifi calling.
Not too expensive to find that out, £1.95.
They were pleasant enough, tried to be helpful and I experienced no problems other than the PAC thing. A better local signal and I would probably have stayed.
Good that the porting issue appears to be sorted.
  • I should have checked this forum earlier. Similar experience here except I've not been able to resolve it.

Lycamobile have not ported my mobile number so I'm now completely stuck! I desperately need my old number for my work and many other contacts, apps etc... Lyca are not replying or acting on any of the emails I'm sending them either... Terrible decision to move to them!

I'm going to try and go back to my usual mobile network supplier and see if they can have me back, reinstate my old number...

I cannot recommend Lyca at all. Every provider has the occasional issue but Lyca have them more often and I've never experiences such muddled, poor customer service as I have from Lyca.
