Sim deals for Data Roaming

A lot of people, myself included, travel abroad and use data to stream TV on their mobile phone, tablet or PC. Up until last February if you paid for unlimited data then that's what you  got. Now roaming unlimited data means that there is a cap, called fair usage, anywhere from 12 to 25Gb from all the UK network suppliers that I can find.
Some say that they are not capped but I think that they may already be a customer on an existing contract. New customers cannot get past the fair usage cap.
I would ask MSE to make clear on their comparison deals what the fair usage cap is rather than have us try and weave our way through the quagmire of T&Cs of each sim offer to find out if unlimited is truly unlimited abroad or subject to the con of fair usage.

Which networks never had a fair usage limit under the EU regulations for Roam like at Home..?

Only if you limited your travel to the EU, some of us spend months of the year outside of the EU and so this was never the case.

I am wondering where you are when watching this TV? I go even further and have a FireTV used only for travelling which combined with a VPN gives me the choice of many countries options. My Netflix has been half the price of the UK for years as I signed up overseas via Starling and they seem happy with me continuing to pay the non-UK rate. All that said... when watching TV I tend to be in my hotel or my villa and so use wifi not mobile data.

My latest deal with with O2 which at the time was a very difficult to see deal with international roaming in the EU and many other countries if your monthly payment was over a certain amount. I spent 6 months in South America last year "working from home" and so saved a massive amount but still streamed TV on the wifi. It has a fair use policy but once you stop streaming TV on the beach routinely the few GB a month doesn't trigger them

Mostly streaming in Spain, either on my laptop or with firestick on TV. Didn't need a vpn as using a UK sim card which was recognise by iplayer etc as being based in the UK.

Don't know of any of the main stream providers who had unlimited roaming. All have had a fair use policy limiting it to a fixed amount when abroad for years. Certainly Three, EE, O2 and Vodafone have.
