Biomass wood pellets - Have you seen the prices??

I'm shocked at the difference in wood pellets already. A year ago I bought a 65 bag pallet for £260 and now the cheapest I can find is £485. An 86% increase....

It's going to be a damn cold winter....

Everything is going north.  Out of curiosity, how long will the pallet last?

And what weight of pellets per bag?
If 10kg per bag, and 4.7kWh per kg (Notts Energy), that's 3055kWh which works out as 15.2p/kWh. A similar price to what mains gas is going to be this winter, but quite a bit more expensive than oil or LPG.

A 65 bag pallet would be 15kg bags. 96 10kg bags on a pallet. The pallets weighs just under 1 tonne including the pallet.

At the beginning of the month I purchased a 960kg pallet of eco logs for £325, a few days later they went up to £425 and are now £460.

How good?  Whenever I have had a test bag of various pellets, I found the burn to be quick. Plus, they leave more ash.

Maybe I'm cynical but two posts from newbies within two minutes of each other, on an eighteen month old thread, for a company which has been manufacturing pellets since 'Winter 2021' seems a bit suspicious.
