The last sheet I bought was fabulous individual lucky buy, dressy top sheet with crochet top for proper dressed bed, if you can bear a pulled thread - if new and perfect retailing at £250. I paid £1.50 in a charity shop .Sods to iron but will see me out0

They have had a Good Housekeeping recommendation in the past and I particularly like the fact that they are deep and stay in place. Sorry can't remember which exact range they are but not the cheapest and a fairly high thread count.
I understand people say you should never skimp on bedding but people also said that about meat and a bunch of other things. Unfortunately for some, £8 sheets are what they can afford.
However, I am looking at a wool duvet, which is £135 but reckon it may be worth it.
Wonder if the money saving part of this website has suffered from inflation - 10 years ago people wouldn't dream of spending £80 on a sheet, where as now, they would...0 -
Yes, I'm pretty sure those are the ones.
As I posted before, people can choose to spend their money on what they want and if that's an £80 sheet then that's fine. Personally I'm happy with supermarket sheets provided they do the job. I particularly like that the Asda ones are deep and don't work their way off the mattress.
Today I spent £30 on a pillow. 😴🤣0 -

I now have 3 different tog wool duvets and, to me, they were worth every penny. Mine are from Baavet who have a 'baargain box' on their site. All mine were described as having slight marks but I can't see them!
Last one, the super light I am currently using, was reduced by £40 so worth checking regularly.0 -
Usually get my sheets and pillowcases from Marks & Spencers.

People's circumstances change over time, many come here for the first time having an issue and hopefully their situation improves and they can start thinking about £80 sheets (not for me to judge if its sensible in their revised circumstances).0 -
I'm quite choosey about sheets. I buy white pure cotton sheets only. I use King of Cotton (highly recommended and better quality than White Company), spend about £100 a time and they last a long time. I rotate two sets and I have had them for years. 100% cotton so do need ironing, but I can't stand sleeping in poor quality sheets. I could buy cheap ones but we spend a lot of time in bed, and I forgo many other things e.g. takeaways, alcohol....so why not.0
