British Airways Airmiles

I received an e-mail from British Airways on 19/07/22, saying I would lose all my airmiles due to 'inactivity' on my account, if I didn't collect or spend a minimum of 1 Avios before 19/08/22.
Since 24/07/22, I have tried to log into my account, numerous times, but been unable to do so. I have tried to ring, via the telephone number on their website, numerous times, but all I get is a recorded message on which I am allowed to choose options, but which, ultimately, says 'There is no-one here to take your call, please ring back later'.
I have registered an online complaint via BA's website and received a case reference number and logged a case through Resolver, but still had no response.
Any advice please? According to their e-mail on 19/07/22 ... 'Following the expiry of your Avios, your Executive Club account will be closed.'I had accumulated at least 55659 airmiles and will be extremely upset if I have already lost / will lose them all.
Thanks, in anticipation of any advice.

Unfortunately as you are now past the deadline its a bit late to post the question. The advice would have been to look at anything you can transfer to Avios like Tesco Clubcard Points, AmEx MR, Marriott Bonvoy or a range of others. For all those you just need to know your BA flying club number and the names/addresses match. You could transfer the minimum points under each scheme and reset the clock on your BA flying club expiring.
Having now left it past the deadline you are going to have to rely on their goodwill to reinstate them.1 -
I agree that now the deadline has passed it might be too late.
However it's probably worth posting on FlyerTalk BA forums, that's where the real experts are who might have further advice

Thanks for the link - I'll give it a try.

Using Avios for a flight to Europe in economy is pretty poor value. Especially when the taxes and charges add up to more than what any other airline would charge you for a seat anyway.

if they've already expired there might not be a lot you can do but i'd suggest if you buy something online you go through www.shopping.ba.com crediting to your ex club account, that would be enough to keep the account alive and prevent your miles from expiring even if you're not travelling
if you've lost the miles you could try to raise a complaint saying you weren't able to access your account (if it's BA's fault) and were unable to contact customer service (which is very believable) so you can ask if they'll credit them back0 -

Thanks for this. I wanted to use them to fly to Egypt. Have used them on this route before. Thanks though.

Thanks for this advice. However, I can't log into my account, so can't use the above link, as it won't let me in. Thanks anyway for taking the time to reply.

Thanks again for this link. I've posted something on there and keeping fingers crossed that I can reclaim the lost airmiles once I ca log back into my account.
